Need advice on my job, it's serious

I wanted to just ask some friends who may follow me, about really breaking free out of my wage slave job. Now I have bills to pay of course, granted not much. But I'm not going to live life just clicking buttons for my parents. My family owns a home agency. I took out the words health and care because I see these people all the time and they're drugged beyond comprehension as these corrupt nurses just demand more money and act like they have entitlement.

I am saddened and angry over the greed and money built on drug addition. My family has gotten into so much trouble with distant family over this. My family has become so materialistic that I can't deal with this anymore, that I regret my materialistic behavior as a kid. I want to do art and get out there and leave my mark. But this 40 hour a week job is keeping me in prison. I need advice on how to make the money I need, while having time to do what I want to do.

It is the million dollar question for bit a few of us, how do we get into a job that if it not our dream job can at least act as an eventual stepping stone to it? 7 years ago I applied and was hired at a grocery store, I started in the Service Deli but kind of sucked at it but was made a General Merchadise Clerk (mostly non food stocker) and was promoted to Food Clerk in less than a year. I never intended it to be my lifes work but between going to school and taking care of a sick father, work related knee injuries piling up and many other things and a situation 2 years ago where I got suspended and almost fired for something completely stupid have got me on complete and total burnout, burnout which nearly drove me to suicide last year.

Now I am presented with an opportunity to become a Receiver (back room manager) which will give me a lot more time to do what I want and need to do and will dramatically reduce the amount of stress on me.  I have had this longtime exit strategy that will be much easier if I get that position but I of course have backup plans just in case. I wish I had an easy answer as to how to make money and still have time for things you need and want to do but with this crappy economy the answers become more and more difficult.

You're in a worse position then I am. I am just trying to have a good series of days and put the bad behind me. I come to work and it's nothing by evil and gossip and money. Everyday is just a day to survive and my parents simply do not care about what I want to do. Instead it's all about them and making the drug companies wealthier.

I wouldn't quit if you don't have heavily formal training like a degree because foreign worker policies that are abused will just end up not only taking any jobs you want, but the job that you had. Staying competitive in today's market means you're gonna have to lower your standards a lot, buddy. No such thing as living and being able to have fun anymore, really, unless you can stand out from thousands. If you can stand out from thousands and make that little bit of an impression, good for you, you're lucky.

If you are adamant on leaving do interviews while you are still in employment so you don't get suckered out. A 40-hour workweek is very little. Could be far, far worse. (My summer job had me working 7-10 hour days 6 days a week, but I'm not graduated yet, so.)

Tell your parents they're a bunch of dickweeds and leave if your job if can get a cheap apartment.

My parents are disillusioned in their money making. But right now they might be losing their company and it's not their fault. But my parents are not really parents, they think everything is about college college college, when clearly my courses have wasted my time and money.

Probably think that because most jobs that pay high wages (above $22 grand a year let's say) require at least a bachelors...?
