May 22, 2012 marks the one-year anniversary of the second-most deadly tornado in U.S. History: The Joplin EF5 Twister. The twister killed 126 people (from what I remember) and left much of Joplin in ruins. I decree that a moment of silence be held at noon CDT, in order to remember those who lost their lives in this tragic event.

I will surely take part in the moment of silence. There were many stories of sacrifice and those people really deserve respect and of course all the family and friends who lost loved ones in that event.

Eh....I'd feel different if it were for something like a killing spree or a terrorist attack, or something that was simply the result of bad luck and human error...but...death's from natural disasters I tend to not get that upset about (because they well...happen more or less every year and all the time)

That said, I will take part in the moment of silence out of respect for those gone.

When I read this, I honestly thought we were talking about Scott Joplin. My condolences to the people affected by the Joplin tornado.

I thought this event was about Janis Joplin. I'm glad I live in the City of Angels, and will never have to face a tornado. My condolences to the people of Joplin.

I actually live not too far from Joplin, and know some people from there. Fortunately, they were okay. I still remember hearing about it and just being beside myself. It appears I missed the silence today, but I'm keeping it in mind.
