BABSCon Early Bird Registration

Azure Envy

Recommended Posts

Eeyup, I'm preregistered with a High Society pass.  Last year I just had the normal pass and I still had a blast, but for the little extra it's worth it to skip lines and go to the meet and greet.

And to answer the bronycon question, they only have sections on here for conventions that are hosting their forum on MLP Forums.  Babscon has staffers that maintain this area and it's the official forum for Babscon which is why it gets its section.  Bronycon on the other hand has its own forum hosted on the website which is why there's no section on here.

I pre-reg already for next year, spent a little bit more money for High Society, totally going to be worth. Save me time to get things signed and see other panels. I felt like I missed alot last year. On top of that, I'm going to be even more prepared for costumes and stuff :)! Already cant wait for next year :)

I'm waiting to see what's in the higher end packages before I register. If it's nothing of interest I'll get a regular registration.

They've already posted what's in the higher end packages... the only thing we still don't know is what the character-specific item is in the $2000 package, but you at least know they'll have one.  Last year it was a headdress, I'd probably guess on it being the something along those lines.

Anyone pre-register for next year yet? I'm still deciding which one to get... :fiery:

I'm going with the regular 3-day pass (haven't bought it yet; waiting to get my hotel room first). I was originally going to get the High Society pass but then I realized that I have work on Saturday and I don't get off until about 4:00 or 5:00 that afternoon. I could call ahead and say that they'll need to get a substitute for that day (I work at a live theater), but I'd rather save that in-case I really need it (I don't want to appear too unreliable). I'm also not sure how understanding they'd be after I told them the reason I'll be missing work that day.

SO, instead I'll just leave shortly after work. With the two-/three-hour drive, that should put me there hopefully by sundown. Since I won't be attending all three days like I originally planned, the High Society pass just doesn't make sense for me this year (plus the cost difference for staying all three days instead of just Saturday-Sunday is ~$300).

Assuming it's going to happen, I'll try for the High Society pass in 2016.

um why can't you ask for those days off, you have over half a year to get everything sorted out. I had the High Society pass last time and it was well worth it, in fact I upgraded this year.

the differences between the packages are on the site, and they are very good

My main concern is that my employers would not understand my reason for taking those days off. I'm not exactly what I'd tell them after they ask "why are you taking the day off?". Another reason is that something else might come up that is more important (such as an education-related event). Those are my two concerns. Also, I only have three weekends of shows that I work (it used to be four), so I'm essentially missing 1/3 of the performance and I'd hate for my substitute to be better than I am  :P .

Not sure if you know, but if you ask for a vacation day, your supervisor has absolutely no right to know what you are doing.  If he or she asks to be friendly it's up to you if you tell them or not.  But you are not obligated to give an explanation for time off and if they ask, your answer can be "it's personal".

Now if you really think taking a day that far in advance might jeopardize your job, that's another story.

@Lunatic Envy ---As for having registered already?  You bet I have!  I went for the top package again like I did last year.  I trust that the bugs will be ironed out and I'm happy to do the same thing again.

If any pony is still paying attention to this post right now, I just glanced over to the Babscon website and read the new items that were added to the top package including free admission to a John Delancie dramatic reading?  Assuming others will also be able to attend that @Simon do you know anything about that?

Sounds really interesting!  And they posted the gift that subs for the headdress last year.  It's a paper art shadow box.  I remember those artists set up near EquestriaPlush at this year's con and their pieces were pretty amazing.  I will be very happy to get an original of theirs.

Actually I looked again and the top 3 packages- Crystal Pony, Noble Pony and Mane Pony- got the Delancie admission added to their perks.
