Least Favorite Amusement Park(s) or Ride(s)

This week my brother and I went to Las Vegas for a couple of days for my birthday, and one of the things that we did there was go to the Adventuredome at Circus Circus. It's very inexpensive if you purchase an all day pass and make sure you get your money's worth.

There was one ride called Inverter. It was one of those things that flips and turns you upside down, kind of like the Riptide at Knott's, but a little different. It was not fun at all. I really wanted to try it, and I regretted it. Okay, I get that the rides are supposed to be safe, but THEY DON'T NEED TO HURT! I swore the restraint cut off the circulation from my legs. Then there was a bar that secured the restraint that made the intense pressure on my legs even worse. My legs were in pain every time we flipped :(

I wanted to get a rush, not get hurt!

I noticed that there is already a thread about favorite amusement parks, but this one is about parks and rides that you don't like, whatever the reason may be.

What are some of the worst attractions you've come across? What are some of the not necessarily terrible but still somewhat bad ride you've ridden?

One ride that I didn't really like but enjoyed was Superman. My arms and legs were aching in pain after I got off the ride, though I liked it, still a painful experience.

I usually don't go to amusement parks, but i certainly dislike merry go rounds...They creep me out...

I also don't care much for the roller coasters as the last time i was on one i hit my front tooth on one of the handle bars during the ride. :fiery:

I dislike any roller coaster. Call me a wuss, but going that fast and being that high and dropping and turning that fast in an open container with no control over where you're going scares the piss out of me. Like, I can't even describe the pure concentrated terror and despair I experienced when I rode my first coaster. I haven't even done any loops or anything either; that one coaster when I was like 9 and I was fucking done for LIFE. I wouldn't even go near that big water ramp log ride thing they have in Hershey Park.

Any ride where I spin around, except scramblers for some reason. They're alright.

So yeah, amusement parks are more like fear fields for me. I was a buzz kill that entire trip. AND I DIDN'T GIVE A SHIT ABOUT IT!

Haha, I stayed at that hotel once, and no matter how many times I was flipped upside-down with pain surging through my legs and shoulders, I always lined up to hop on again.

I truly do wnvy those who can ride carnival/amusement park rides. I say this because I am someone who tends to get sick quite sick quite easily on any ride.

Generally, I dislike almost any ride, and I certainly dislike any roller coaster. I also don't much care to spend time outside over the hot pavement with a bunch of people around... Just the thought of it almost gives me the migraine that I usually get when caught in such situations.

There is ONE amusement park I used to like to go to, and that was Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri. It was a big family thing back from [probably] before I was even born through about nine years ago. My family and I would always go there on one weekend in November and see the Christmas lights... Lol. The tradition broke when Grand Nationals (big national marching band competition) fell during that same weekend, and my parents decided to go up and see me there instead. But enough of that, right?

It's mainly nostalgia for me... The very last time I ever went there was in October of 2007. If I went there again, it would probably just make me depressed and mentally unstable.

Sorry, I elaborate everything wayyy too much. >.< What I wanted to get to was that there is one ride there I actually enjoy, and that's the shoot-out one. It's just a nice and slow ride where you ride on a line of boats tethered to the a track below in shallow water, and the goal is to shoot from laser guns at little targets and it makes things happen! lol That's the ONLY kind of ride I will ride.

And trust me, one time I refused to ride even that one because I swore I got splashed. xD

Living an hour from Orlando and a few hours from Tampa, theme parks visits are common for me and the family. Also grew up in Philly so I wasn't that far from Great Adventure in NJ, and Dorney and Hersey were still within car distance.

Worst ride is easy. E.T. at Universal. I remember the 4 hour wait back in the 90's for what amounted to a poor man's "Mr. Toad's Wild Ride." The wait to enjoyment ratio may have been what soured me as much. When it closed ... I cheered!

Anything that spins around. I get dizzy REAL quickly in like 3 seconds. I can't handle it!

This ride is called the Nordic Spaceship. It is at Scandia in Ontario, California.

You go inside, and it spins round and round and round!

Not my favorite.

The Small World ride at Disneyland. The children look creepy and they slapped Disney characters into it to try and make it "better".

And with that out of the way, I leave you with this video.

Most roller coasters or things that go high up and than straight down fast like that one water at Disneyland/ Disney world. That now I can't think of the name is. I tried to go on but, chickened out last minute.

My friends get a huge kick out of how much of a scared little chicken I am. Just remembered now, splash mountain.

I usually love all rides at carnivals & such, but I guess merry-go-rounds would be my least favorite.

Granted I probably would enjoy them more if I had someone with me to really enjoy it, but meh.

My least favorite amusement park is this local one near me called Uncle Cliffs.I dont like it because I've been there soo much that it's boring, and they rarely have new rides. But the good thing about it is that there's not a lot of waiting for the rides so you can possibly go on all the rides in a day.

Unlike disneyland where you have to wait about 1-2 hours for one ride. -_-

They added Disney characters now? I had no idea. When did they do that? I've been to Disneyland hundreds of times in my life (that happens when you have a mom who works there and you can get in for free). Last time I went on It's a Small World it was the normal It's a Small World I've always known.

It's ridiculous how expensive and crowded Disneyland has become. It didn't used to be like that. I remember the longest waiting time for a ride would be 40 minutes long at most. 90 minutes is out of this world.

Not a big fan of roller coasters ESPECIALLY ones with giant drops. I'm afraid of heights so going on one makes it worse. Some people like the adrenaline rush you get from going on them but I personally hate it.

I tend to enjoy just about any ride, as I enjoy being in the air. (see: username) Except when they do it wrong.

I live near Coney Island in New York, or at least near enough to it to visit it from time to time. Their classic coaster "The Cyclone" is an old rickety wooden thing that isn't as smooth as you wish it would be. It's quite possible for you to lurch forward and bang yourself on something. I don't even want to think about how many people have lost teeth, hats, or people on that thing. It doesn't mean I don't like it though, it just means I wish it were smoother. L_L'

Then there was the Apollo's Chariot in Busch Gardens, Williamsburg, Pennsylvania. Take a look in the first fifteen or so seconds at the seat that you'd be sitting in. Count the number of things that cover your body to protect you from flying out of the seat, and then count the number of them that aren't on your crotch. ... ... what, you couldn't find anything? Really? Really? Okay then. You'd be right.

A piece of metal crosses over your crotch to hold you into a rollercoaster that accelerates to damn near blazing fast speeds. It doesn't go upside down, but it's still a hoot and/or a holler to ride. It was one of my favorites, but also one of my least favorites because just ow, I guess.

The renovations started in January of 2008 and ended in November. They added 37 Disney characters. They showed up in the part of the world they are from like Alice being in the European section and Mulan and Mushu in the Asian section.

I went to this one county fair when I was 9, and there was this one ride called "The Hurricane"

Basically, it was cars going around a false lighthouse in the air, and it would often tilt.

Good god, I was so nervous on that one..

Space Mountain at Disney World. Going really fast in the dark with the stars everywhere, plus the fact that it's a roller coaster make it not a fun ride for me,

Oh, I haven't actually ever ridden thing. My dad could never get me. That's scared little kid stubbornness for you.

I LOVE most thrill rides, but I absolutely hate these stupid rides where you start at the bottom and then they shoot you straight up into the air:

I can't tell you how many times I've had nightmares about the harness breaking and me flying straight to my death.
