Equestria Girls was confusing.

Equestria Girls gave me a pretty hard laugh, but it also left me with a lot of questions. Why would a pony transform to a human from going through that portal? Why do the humans have the same skin color as their pony counterparts? And furthermore, why does Rainbow Power make them look like they put on too much makeup? This was, without a doubt, the most confusing movie I have ever seen, even for a My Little Pony movie.

If you think that is confusing, you should see Jurassic Park III and Jurassic Park: The Lost World.

Anyway, the reason the movie is so confusing comes from the huge amount of plot holes and plot contrivances, I'd give it an excuse for being a kids movie. But, that wouldn't solve the problems that the movie has.

Ummmm, okay?  :P I do not remember having ever seen any of the Jurassic Park movies.

I'm too frightened by the concept of EqG to even see it lol.  Can someone please, please tell me approximately how much screen time PONY (a.k.a. real) Rainbow Dash has in it?  I don't want to spend $$$ on a movie that's 5% pony RD.

Only relevant because you mentioned JP lol, but...  I could've SWORN that

Ian Malcolm died in the first book.  I seem to recall that he got it bad from the T-Rex, but he was tossed free when the beast couldn't throw its head back and down him in one go (unlike the film, which took no issue with that and that other, relatively unimportant guy).  And - near the end - his condition was at least implied as being either iffy or outright kaput.  So it confused me when he...  Was the focus of both the second book and movie.

And then JPIII wasn't book-based at all ('cept I think they took the pterodactyl aviary thing from the JP book), and it brought back Grant because, I guess, reasons.

The pony version of Rainbow Dash is on screen for maybe a minute, not even. Like 97% of the movie takes place in the human world. Only the opening and closing scenes take place in Equestria

As for the human Dash, She's on screen a decent amount of time, but she doesn't have much to do other than do what everyone else is doing. Dash has a decent, albeit brief scene where she's playing soccer, but other than that it's mostly Twilight going around a high school doing pointless things for an hour

Thanks for responding.  Just confirms what I'd already feared: just not something I'd be interested in watching / owning.  Too bad.  I wish they'd done a ponies-only "movie" instead.  Something that felt like a long FIM episode and ended up available in blu-ray format.

It's a movie that has zero reason to exist beyond selling toys. I think I managed to fill in the plot holes in a thread I made a while back, but I had to REALLY fucking stretch to the point where it was obvious the writers didn't think the story through. And I believe you can watch it for free on some site somewhere, like youtube of dailymotion.

Also i was wandering... Every pony in equestria has a human counterpart in the world and it also seemed that that world has been going for some time. It wasnt just created when twilight entered the portal... Which makes me ask.. If everyone has a human counterpart...wasnt there a human twilight before she entered the portal??? If so... Where is she??? If not... Why not as everyone else did??

What plot holes do you see in EqG, if you don't mind my asking? 'Cause I used to think there were tons of plot holes, too—mostly involving what the crap Sunset Shimmer's plan actually was—but I really don't think there are now.

I recall going over them in this thread :

Doesn't redeem it in my eyes tho.
