Season 5 Toy ploys

Since Friendship is Magic is an adaptation of a toy line, its natural for additions in the show to be related to the toys. However, I don't think toy ploys are bad if they're relevant to the plot. So what kind of toy ploys are you expecting in Season 5? I personaly would like to see the mane 6 to have a sort of flying pirate-esque ship powered by Alicorn magic, especially since Twilight can now spread Friendship across Equestria. I could also imagine the mane 6 getting sort of accessory weapons in Season 5. Like Rainbow has a retractable sword on her hoof, Rarity has a whip scarf, Applejack upgrades her lasso, Pinkie gets a party crossbow, and Twilight gets an "Alicorn Amplifier" of sorts. Still haven't figured out Fluttershy though.

Considering it is a toy line designed for young female children in mind, I doubt characters are getting crossbows and blades and pirate ships, because I doubt anything like that would ever happen in the show either.

Personally I want a Sapphire Shores and Mayor Mare figurine.

It really shouldn't matter if its for girls or not. This is the same show that proved little girls can like fight scenes and action sequences.

Toy ploys? There might be a new alicorn/ transformation in Season 5, we're due for a new alicorn, we didn't get any new ones in season 4. Transformation wise, maybe we'll get an upgraded version of Rainbow Power, you never know ;)

Super Rainbow Power?

We're going from "You're playing with Power! Rainbow Power!" to "You're playing with Power! Super Rainbow Power!"

I guess that's pretty cool? :P

Which there have been a few of, ie. the changeling fight, etc.

That doesn't equate to requiring actual weaponry in order for younger girls to enjoy action scenes. :)

We didn't get anymore alicorns, because, IMHO, it wasn't a particularly good idea that Twilight turned into one to begin with. I don't actually dislike the season 3 finale(TBH, I think it's pretty great), but I wasn't fond of Twilight's transformation. At least season 4 made it work.

The comics have a pirate, and a pirate ship in it. I'm not sure about a crossbow and blades, but a Hoofbeard figure would be awesome. As strange as it sounds, I think sea ponies would be a great idea. Apparently, they make an appearance, but it grinds my gears that it was in a children's picture book. I love the show, and from what I've seen of the comics, I'm sure I'll like them too, but I have no interest in checking out a children's picture book(I do have to draw the line somewhere). At least mermares appear in the comics. Personally, I'd love to see both in the show. Either way though, they should be rolled out as toys IMHO(even though I'll never own them, since I don't collect the toys).

Nah, I'm agreeing with @. We can all agree that MLP is better at dismantling stereotypes than most shows geared toward young girls, but in the end the show is still a feminine show. I can't imagine the mane 6 with swords or crossbows in the show; it's just not the genre for it. It doesn't really make sense. I mean, if it happens, I'll stand corrected. But at this point in time, I would literally bet money on the fact that they won't be running around slicing stuff and stabbing ponies. Seems too violent. I could see them defending themselves with rainbow glitter beams or magic bubbles or cupcake slingshots and the like (which would... actually be pretty cool), but that's about as far as I see Hasbro taking the cartoon violence.

I think for toys, they'll probably do some sort of huge castle playset or dollhouse type thing for the ponies (think Barbie Dreamhouse style). I could also see them making another alicorn princess, which others have suggested. Hmm, what else... Maybe some clear glitter or jewel-eye brushable ponies? I know they did that for all the other gens; that would be cool. I would like to see some more pet-themed playsets. And then the usual stuff: more dress-up ponies. More small, themed playsets with some of the mane 6 and some background characters or G3 remakes.

*shrug* I don't know - the toys are pretty formulaic. I'm sure there won't be any craAaAaAzy surprises. They always just kind of come out with the same type of thing.
