Dreaming about Ponies.

Ok, so I want to start out by saying this is not a lucid dreaming thread, so If you are looking how to precisely control your dreams than this is not the thread for you. What I wan to know is how to make yourself dream about a certain subject, MLP for example. I don't want to control the dreams, I just want to know some... tips and tricks on how to influence your brain to dream about something specific, I don't even know if this is possible but that's why I am asking. Like is there something I can do before I go to bed to make myself dream about MLP. I have watched the show three times now and constantly eat and breath  my little pony. And usually I watch the show and really "pony out" right before bed. The weird part is that I have never, once, ever, had one single dream about My little pony, and I would like to. So if you have any suggestions on how I could go about dreaming about MLP I would appreciate it.  Thanks.

I also kinda wish i had pony related dreams. I think the only pony related dream i had (that i can recall) was one where i saw a tall unfamiliar pony which was shrouded in darkness looking straight at me...it wasn't creepy or anything, but i could make out what they looked like, which annoyed me.

the best way to dream about something is if it is stuck in your mind the moment you lose conciseness I have only had one pony related dream I can recall it was a nightmare I wish not to discuss with anypony other then that I have been having a lot of dreams about school recently I find it annoying because I don't need to be stressed about school over the break

Well, the most efficient way to dream about something specific is to trigger a lucid dream. You don't have to control it. What you can do is create the dream world (Equestria in your case) and then, just watch as a spectator and let the dream unfold by itself.

I've had a couple of random dreams that involved ponies. Most of which I've accepted perfectly without question rather than becoming lucid. Darn it dreamself me. >.>

The last one involved demon kidnappers and Rarity with a buster sword.

I have an extraordinary amount of death in my dreams too.

...Except I'm normally the one who dies... >.>

Normally by being run over...

...I have very weird dreams

I rarely dream. I don't know why. I have, however, had a few dreams involving ponies. They were weird though.

Really weird.

I had to break Berry Punch/Fluttershy's forelegs to get them out of some sort of stocks. And that was only the bit I can remember vaguely. It got weirder.

Very interested in this, I may do some research into possible techniques to induce certain subjects in dreaming..

You dream every night. The only problem is that you do not remember them. There are techniques you can use to remember your dreams.

I mean, there is no point in inducing a pony dream if you're just going to forget about it the next morning, right ?

Got any better methods than keeping a dream journal, though?

I usually need to actually get ready as soon as I wake up, and by the time I do have time to write, I've usually forgotten a great deal >.<

Sometimes, before going to sleep, I listen “Lullaby for a princess.” I think about Luna, trying to feel deeply the tragedy of that situation, and often listen it with tears in my eyes. After it I often see Luna in my dreams. Even though I’m not fan of Luna.

Yep, right there

Keeping a dream journal in only one step of the process. If you don't do what comes before that, then it's going to make it very hard, because dreams are forgotten very easily.

Personally, I did not have to keep a dream journal to remember my dreams, but it can help a great deal though.

Suh-weet!

I used to be fairly decent at lucid dreaming. But I've gotten out of it recently.

Plus, the dream journal was pretty fun, since it helped with my writing, as well as weird pseudo-psychoanalysis

I've had a handful of dreams where Dashie made a cameo, but it was never exactly what I was hoping for.  The best one was where Dashie just kinda walked up and asked me to go to Equestria to judge a race or something lol.  And it was a race between a very-much-flying Scoots and Gilda. xD

I'm afraid I don't know HOW to make yourself dream about a specific thing.  My dreams have always been of the completely random, WTF-inducing variety lol.  Given how much time I spend watching Dashie on TV, looking at Dashie on my comp screen, and holding her plushie / Funko figurine, you'd THINK I'd get Dashie dreams more often.  I even say "goodnight" to Dashie and think how I'd like to dream of her.  Doesn't.  Work.  Why?  Cruel, confused sub-conscious that's obsessed with post-apocalyptic scenarios, DBZ-like energy battles, and sometimes zombies.  WHY!!???!

Why, thank you. This little guide doohicky looks simple enough. Definitely giving it a try and a half:D

This guide was written by Pr Stephen Laberge so you can rest assured it is reliable and has been proven effective.

ok then my next question would be how to trigger a lucid dream about ponies. Do you have any suggestions?

Well, the first thing is to be able to remember your dream. Next :

To trigger a lucid dream, there are several methods you could use. I personally use the MILD (Mnemonic Induction of Lucid Dreams).

First, you need to realise that you're dreaming. It comes in 3 steps.

STEP 1 : REALITY CHECKS

A reality check is a test you do which helps you to determine whether you're dreaming or not. You should ask yourself the following question several times throughout the day "Am I Dreaming" ?. Then, you need to perform a reality test. The key is that the result of the test will be different in real life and in the dream. It may sound stupid to do it in real life, but the more you do it in real life, the higher the probability that your dream character will perform that test and trigger the lucid dream.

There are several reality tests to choose from. I personally  count the number of fingers on my hands. 5 in real life, and impossible to count in a dream.

More info here : http://lucid.wikia.com/wiki/Reality_check

STEP 2 : LUCID AFFIRMATIONS

Now, when you go to bed, you need to get your dream character to perform a reality check and realize that you're dreaming. The key to do this is to program your brain to realize that it's dreaming.

Just keep repeating in your head "Tonight, I'm going to remember that I'm dreaming".

Repeat it over and over and over until it's stuck in your head. The last thing you think about before you fall asleep should be your desire to realize that you're dreaming. Stay focused on this thought..

STEP 3 : VISUALIZE YOUR DREAM.

Once you are deeply relaxed, try to recall a previous dream but this time, try to relive it as if you were lucid (Interact with your dream characters and seek out any dream signs. A dream sign is an unusual thing that makes you realize that you're dreaming. For example, a flying pig can be considered a dream sign) During this process, you might fall asleep. And that is perfectly fine. Later on that night, during your next REM stage, you have a much higher chance of becoming lucid.

When you're lucid, you can re-create Equestria and the ponies and even interact with them. However, please bear in mind that the more changes you do to your dream, the less stable it is (You might find that it starts to fade away). It takes a lot of practice to learn how to stabilize a lucid dream.

This method was devised by Pr. Stephen LaBerge from the University of Stanford and has been scientifically proven effective.

It just may be that you don't remember the dreams. Try switching up your sleeping schedule. Wake up and go to sleep at different times. Most people only remember their dreams when they wake up in the middle of them. Also, don't forget to use a dream journal.
