Would you like a non-smartphone FiM video game?

Would you mind seeing a non-smartphone game based off Friendship is Magic with effort, polish, and adult appeal just like the show? The whimsical nature of the cartoon makes it perfect for a Klonoa style 2D Platformer, or a Paper Mario-esque RPG. The only question, who is competent enough to give FiM in game form proper justice?

Likely canidates include WayFoward, and any of the major Japanese developers (Nintendo, Sega, Capcom, Square Enix, Bamco, Konami). WayFoward has expressed interest in making a FiM game before, and considering their track record with licensed games, I think they can do something decent.

Then there's the big 6 J-devs. Nintendo is the most likely as a game about cute candy colored ponies would be right up their ally. They could even get Intelligent Systems to develop it. The least likely would be Square, as they have almost no experience with working on western properties or 2D Platformers.

As for who I want to develop it, Sega. I know a company who was once about "cool kids" making a game based of a children's cartoon, which is based off a little girls toy line is silly. But I feel their style would be the best fit for FiM than any of the other canadates.

Likewise, Hasbro is likely going to select an American publisher like Activision to adapt FiM into a game. But WayFoward and the Japanese developers are far more competent to work on licensed material. And besides, little girls deserve something other than some cheap cash-in shovelware title.

I'd be all for it, but I don't have much faith in there being a lot of interest for it. It's not like South Park and the Stick of Truth; unfortunately.

There are plenty of fan-created MLP:FiM video games but I do think it would be nice to have a licensed game for consoles/PCs. I think a lot of bronies would buy it but I don't think it's going to happen very soon, if at all.

Personally, I believe Double Fine or Tell Tale Games should create it. Tim Schafer's company shovels out unique games that are ALWAYS funny. And Tell Tale Games could turn My Little Pony into an amazing point and click adventure that would give this dead genre new life.

Possibly on the 3DS because kids games do best on Nintendo handhelds because it's what kids are more likely to have. I think Wayforward mentioned they want to make an MLP 3DS game. They already made adaptations of Adventure Time and Regular Show so it's very likely. It will probably be a 2D platformer and Wayforward makes pretty good 2D platformers.

A My Little Pony Game by Telltale would be the greatest thing ever!

They already did (g3) it sucked but I do see hasbro doing that and sucking but they could prove me wrong but I don't see it happening. Oh yeah the game is thisattachicon.gifimage.jpg

I've seen trailers for Gen 3, out of curiousity. I was turned off of the very idea of checking out previous gens, and think I'll stick exclusively to FiM. However, if something like that could get greenlit for a game, without the fanbase that FiM has, then a 3DS port is very possible. Come to think of it, as a Pinkie Pie fan, I kind of do want a rundown of what that Pinky was like.

Anyways, to answer the question, eeyup! I'm actually surprised FiM doesn't have a videogame adaptation on official systems yet, given the show's popularity. There are so many possibilities. An rpg, an action sidescroller, and even a simple point and click, or Telltale style ludo-narrative type game would be welcome in my book. I had a weird dream I was playing an adventure type MLP game on my PS4, the odd part being that that wouldn't by my first genre choice for a MLP game, but I'd buy it anyways.

The premise was that a portal opened up in Twilight's fancy new castle, and the Mane Six and Spike were sucked through it, presumably to another world(though I never got far enough to establish that, before waking up). They also seem to have gotten separated, and I'm assuming it's divided into chapters, where the player would get a chance to play as each of the characters at some point, because the player then takes control of Fluttershy, who woke up in a room on the second floor in a two story house on a mountain somewhere, with no other buildings, or much of anything in site, other than mountain terrain. It's pouring rain outside. It turns out that Fluttershy is alone in this house, and has to investigate to find out where she is.

That's about as far as I got. I never did find out if this world is populated by anthropomorphic ponies or something else, but it was just a dream anyways, and a weird one at that. It must be because I got home late last night and decided not to read a MLP:FiM comic before bed(which I've recently taken up, after finishing the show).

Yup! But, I think it should be a day in the life of Ponyville. You play as every character being entertained by their routine lives until something big and incredible interrupts their day and they must save the world!

I am thinking about welcome to ponyville that game was fun but wasn't a point and click but it was about living the life of a new pony in ponyville and just living their life until something happened

If they made a real mlp game like an rpg or something like the Sims I would throw my money at them. All of it. While Gameloft did take a crack at a mlp game I'm not a very big fan of moblie games or micro transactions either.

Now if they did a game in the style of Paper Mario I think it could work out pretty damn well. I know an rpg in this style could work since the game would have to keep the non threatening style and atmosphere of the show and paper mario was one of the most non threatening rpgs I have played to date.

And I have been craving a sims like pony game after seeing Yudhaikeledai's Pony sims video. lol
