I have recently been playing Star Trek Online a lot. Possibly an unhealthy amount (No such thing!). Anyway, I was wondering if we had an STO fleet or not, and if so, how many people were interested in the new Romulan faction that will be released in May?

If anyone else plays, what do you like/dislike about the game, and what faction do you prefer?

My tag is @jadescale1 and I do quite a bit of PVE in the form of STFs and helping newbies with missions and such.

I played STO quite a bit but then I started to get into WOW and now I only log on once a month the strongest part of the game is the Ship Combat it's really well done and feels very Star Trek like, also I love the amount of customization they give you. Some of my complaints about the game is the Ground Combat in my opinion it doesn't feel very Star Trek like I know in the show they would go on a planet and sometimes have to fight something but in this game your entire landing party has Assault Rifles and Grenades. The other thing I didn't like is even when the game was subscription based there still was a ton of stuff like ships and races you had to buy.

I Love STO i play it a lot. I have been waiting for this Romulan Faction for the longest amount of time and i knew it was coming. But they are going to cut ALOT of corners with it. I knew they would start doing that when they called it an "Expansion". They will not allow Romulans to have their own fleets they will have to join KDF or Starfleet.... which is stupid. The biggest and ONLY problem this game has is Cryptic. Cryptic is a small company i will give them slack for that. But it seems like the only people at Cryptic who are doing a good job are the art guys. Everyone who makes the decisions loves to cut corners and generally lets everyone down. I love this game but they RUIN it at every corner. They are old school players from back in the day when you had to GRIND everything for the cool stuff. The Season 7 releases were all stupid. New Romulus being the biggest one. Seriously who joins Starfleet or the KDF to.... collect 1000 water samples and spray bugs? Cryptic caters to the people who yell the loudest. And thats whats wrong with the game. I only play KDF mostly. The best thing about this new faction is that now they will not be able to cater only to Starfleet players. Because they do.. theres no getting around that.

Well since the search isn't working around these parts I will just bring this topic I found on google back to life since I basically have the same question.

Do we have a fleet? If not I was really thinking of starting up the NLR or something if I could get some people to join up. My tag is @Kitzel

I mostly play Federation, just recently reached Rear Admiral and have been playing all this time without a fleet. Figured I should get into one and what better way than to see if my fellow trek bronies already have a fleet or not. I pretty much only do pve, mostly just explore/fight with my ship since that's what I love most. Reminds me of Starfleet Command so much that I used to play on Windows 98/XP.

Hey everyone (excuse me, everypony)!  anyone else play Star Trek: Online?  I'd love to get a theme'd fleet going, if there are any interested players on here!

Sent you an invite, if you need any help on anything feel free to ask. I'm science based but I think I'm currently using a Mirror Universe Star Cruiser.

I also have an Orion and Romulan, though I've not gone very far on the Romulan and am only 24 with the Orion. I prefer Starfleet for the most part.

Mee as well.  I have a level 50 Vice-Admiral Human that's been on since I started playing STO.  Also have a Klingon, Romulan, and 2nd starfleet characters.

Anyone else play?

I used to.  I haven't been on in a over a year but I think I made it to rear admiral before then.  It is kind of a neat MMO, it just feel like its many games modes don't even take place in the same world.

For some reason, it shows my character in TOS outfit even though she is dressed in TNG stuff. I've not used TOS uniforms for awhile, since I managed to get to whatever rank it is when you can buy the Voyager Intrepid class.

Also. Come on! Only need 3 more people and we could create a Fleet!

What exactly does one do in a large group in StO anyway?

You can do Fleet missions together.  Also, with enough people, we can upgrade our own fleet starbase to get special unlocks, like ships, equipment, etc.  and its fun to be in a fleet with your friends!

I may need to get back on StO.  Do we have a shared brony fleet?

I've never seen one. As soon as we have 5 people though we can make one. Right now its just me and nx9100. We're both veterans in the game, so that's a good start I think.

Why yes I have. It's another microtransaction-riddled MMO.

Really useful comment there, goat. It's a FTP game, what do you expect. Besides, in all the time I've been playing it, I've not spent one cent. Want to talk about micro transaction issues, let's talk SWTOR, that's the worst ever. Thanks EA. This one is not intrusive at all IMO, which is great.

Same here.  I ended up putting 94 hours into the thing, and I only spent around $20 to buy a Defiant with a cloak.  I am definitely not getting ripped off here.  Sure the game strongly encourages you to drop money into it (because it has to to remain FTP) but it is quite playable without investing money.  Definitely one of the better MMOs out there.

Thanks, freind :D . I do agree swotor is one of the worst examples of all time, EA can go slowly rot in tartarus for all I care.

Star Trek: Online is capable of being played without spending one penny!  I have a friend (non-brony) who plays it for free, and sticks with the free ships and items he can get without paying anything.  Then you have me, and no, you don't want to know how much $ i've spent for in-game ships, lol.  To each his own.

If anyone wants to join and start a brony-themed fleet, contact me at my character handle below:
