RP THREAD! Yaaay!

 

THIS ROLEPLAY IS NOW CLOSED. THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION.

 

 

As the demonic threat continues across Equestria, the secretive Inquisition continues its work- protecting the common ponies from corruption, all while searching for the way to end the incursion...

 

 

Strange, dark energies. Several nearby towns losing communications with the town in question. Ponies recorded going insane within roughly ten miles of the town. The city of Black Willow, located several dozen miles from its nearest counterpart, Fillydelphia, is a textbook case of a mature demonic infestation- a quite worrisome task that needed to be stopped as soon as possible. Yet the scouts sent forth returned in quite an unorthodox manner- sleepwalking, with a message slung across their back. Such is the fate of all who cross me, written in crude Equestrian. Once the message was removed, the pones fell over dead.

 

Naturally, this happened to greatly concern the Grand Inquisitor. After a council was summoned and it was discussed further, it would be determined that a strike force would be lead in, lead by Lord Inquisitor Moon Crypt of the Luna Branch. And now it came down to the Lord Inquisitor to decide which ponies from the Inquisition would form this strike team- a group of Inquisitors with a diverse group of skills. With any luck, the mission would be completed, and the group would be left both alive and sane...

 

 

Welcome to the roleplay! Thank you for considering to be part of this RP.

 

Before we get started, we need the rules!

 

1. No Godmodding, Mary/Gary Sues, Powerplaying... all of the standard roleplaying stuff.

2. In order to join, you must select a branch of the inquisition, or be a member of the Power of Darkness. Make this clear in your post- I would prefer not to have to call anyone out on forgetting this bit of information.

3. Sorry, guys, but no alicorns. They don't have a place in the Inquisition. It would draw too much attention to them. However, you may remove either the horn and wings and use them as normal pegasi/unicorns.

4. 2 characters per player max.

5. No dragons and nothing Chaotic Evil.

6. IF PLAYING AS A MEMBER OF THE POWER OF DARKNESS, IF YOU PICK A DEMON OC, IT IS WITHIN MY POWER TO REJECT OR NERF YOUR CHARACTER FOR SAKE OF GAME BALANCE. Roleplaying as the demon to end all demons isn't fun for anyone else. Maybe not even to you.

7 As Inquisitors are passionate ponies, romance is allowed- indeed, encouraged! But keep it PG-13, please.

8. This is going to be a darker RP with all types of fun descriptions of blood and gore- these are demons we are dealing with. You have been warned.

9. Keep swearing down to a minimum, please. Pony swears are recommended, but not required.

10. Do not use this as an excuse to complain about how evil I am for deciding that Tartarus Productions had to be shut down. Move on with your life if you haven't already, please.

11. Say Inquisition somewhere in your post to ensure that you have read the rules.

12. I am the DM. Listen to me, please.

13. Finally, have fun. This is a must in order to play.

Branch of Celestia

 

The Branch of Celestia is the major branch of the Inquisition, and the first branch officially considered a military asset for combat. Proud and strong, the Branch of Celestia is known for its bold strides forward and its strong military skills, whether it be on the front lines or in a general's seat. Due to their consistent loyalty, the  Branch of Celestia has also become the figurehead for the entire Inquisition, as these are one of the few Inquisitors that you will ever meet face to face.

 

 

Branch of Luna

 

The Branch of Luna is another major branch, but less known then their brethren in the Branch of Celestia. They are the spies, the saboteurs, and the assassins- they encompass the shadier side of the Inquisition. All of them know that their missions are never for personal gain, but, after extended service in the branch, several ponies become so stressed out to the point where many retire to the Canterlot Mental Facility to keep their heads straight on course. The Branch of Luna is considered by many to be new, for they kept their heads down during Luna's thousand year banishment to the moon.

 

 

Branch of Cadence

 

The Branch of Cadence is responsible for services rendered to the populace. With their home base in the Crystal Empire, it is rare to see one, even compared to other Inquisitors. They focus on ridding the land of corruption and recovering the populace of those such corrupted leaders. The branch of Cadence is one of the youngest Branches of the Inquisition, and thus, not well known.

 

 

Branch of Twilight

 

 The Branch of Twilight is the newest branch of the Inquisition, and their job is shady indeed. They specialize in knowledge- forbidden knowledge- and demonancy. Currently, only a handful of Inquisitors are in this branch, and this is the way Celestia wants to keep it, until she deems Princess Twilight ready to accept the fact that she had inherited the most dangerous job in the entire Inquisition...

 

 

Silver Guard

 

 The Silver Guard is a group of elite guardsponies that have been selected by the Inquisitor-Captain Soulhammer to protect Canterlot- and, more importantly, the Princesses. They never paint their armor with heraldry- further emphasizing the fact that they are all equal- and they are always where the Princesses are. Even if you think that all that's between them and the populace are two highly-decorated guards, think again- somewhere within eyesight of the Princesses are at least a squad of Silver Guard, ready to defend their mistresses until death.

 

 

Black Legion

 

The Black Legion is a group of faceless, black warriors- to those on the outside. On the inside, they are the most dangerous known ponies in the world, and they like to keep it that way. They are trained to look for any sort of corruption within the ranks and to immediately snuff it out any means possible. They are the demonic combat specialists- in a full scale demon incursion, these are the ones on the front lines.

 

 

The Power Of Darkness

 

The demons of Tartarus have long since been trying to take advantage of the real world and often try to warp their way in. If you are playing as a demon (or as a demonancer or a black magic user siding with The Power Of Darkness), you are aware that there is a supernatural threat that is proving harmful to the presence of the growing cult and greater summoning ritual. What you do about this is up to the players individually- going after it alone or with a group, or perhaps inquiring for a treaty with the Inquisition. You want both this threat and the Inquisition gone so that you can continue growing. Please take note in the fact that you can actually win this and this isn't just for kicks- I am planning endings for a multitude of outcomes. Just don't have an overpowered character and you will be fine.

Sage, Mirrorwing and Obsidian Wing would be counted as one pony, but you are forgetting several important parts to your submission...

Here's why I have a hard time with split personality. Bayonet is too soft and flowery for the Black Legion (who have the personality of battle-hardened mercenaries; she'd get torn apart), while Shivty is too rude and vulgar for the Silver Guard (They are Mine Kampf-type loyal to the Princess, kind, loyal, polite... basically everything Shivty isn't. Heck, Shivty might even be working for the demons). I'd feel better about it if you played them both as separate characters, but if you don't want to, It's honestly up to you which branch to stick her in, since her personalities fit into the Silver Guard and Black Legion (or demonic) respectively.

The only thing I really took from Warhammer are names and titles and, honestly, there were Inqusitions before that. No, I was just struggling to come up with a name for this particular organization at the time.

 

And the demons... those were around in my headcanon before the Inquisition was. I added them in for more... personal reasons that I won't go into right now.

Yay! My first RP! My OC Heartless! Ever since she came into this world, she has been laying low until a recent demon outbreak. One of the inquisitors has taken an eye of her and requested her service in the Black Legion. In return, she would like to remain at low profile and serve only as ordered. Although, she has warned them that she will not tolerate any mercy or compassion neither if it's friendlies or enemies as long as the order is carried out.

 

She's a little different though because she doesn't need weapons, is she legit for this RP?

 Maybe she could be both! Bayonet with the Silver Guard  and Shivty with the Black Legion. They switch in their sleep so on can do this for a bit and on can do that for a bit.

Aw i really wanted Moonlight as an alicorn in this rp but for this she's just gonna be a bat pony her talent and appearance remain the same except she wont have a horn and she would have a diffirent personalty. http://mlpforums.com/page/roleplay-characters/_/moonlight-starshine-r5175 and of course she would be in The Powers of Darkness.

 

Oh yea when i saw this rp i absalutely could not contain exitement so whilst reading the OP i was giggling like a maniac.

Yes I have. Well I can change things if need be but that maybe in the matter of factions. I'm open to beating ideas into this more.

 

I was thinking of one of the pony Inquisition groups or maybe just simply being a lone agent. She isn't exactly a very powerful demon but she can and will get the job done.

Let's take it up with the author before just jumping to conclusions and may I remind you I was invited to this. If I must create a new pony, I will but I will wait for the ruling of the DM before I do anything.

 

Sadist maybe immortal, but I didn't make her too powerful so if you worry that I will blast all demons within a matter of seconds, don't.

Appologies if I sounded a bit up tight but I cannot have someone quick guessing how I'll play my pony.

 

Yeah man, Immortality may make her unkillable but she is not untrappable. And her mind can still be controlled as well.

 

Agreeable, but immortality doesn't make you invincible. It merely means that you do not have a mortal lifespan and to some level makes you hard to kill. This is something allot misconstrue often.

(A short description of her in the rp) Runic always liked researching forbidden knowledge n such especially demonancy and forbidden knowledge also helps her make enchantment spells however she no where near capable of enchanting an item to be as strong as the alicorn amulet she is greatly fascinated by demons and their magical capabilities she's also a good fighter.

 

And maybe at some point in the rp or the sequel of this rp if it gets one Runic would join The powers of darkness maybe out of temptation or something else entirely.
