private False Haven (Superhuman RP)

Not long after dawn, a boat set off from the coast of California, headed for the manmade island of Haven and it's lone city, Haven Point. Despite it's unlikely location, Haven Point had grown to become a fairly large city, thanks in no small part to the incentives the government granted to certain citizens who lived there. The city was known as a sanctuary for metahumans, the first and longest lasting of such areas. Indeed, the aforementioned boat was carrying a group of metahumans there now, as it did most every day, shipping in new arrivals hoping to find a friendly home for people like themselves.

Victor Branson groaned as all the noise on the boat prevented him from catching any further sleep during the trip. He'd barely slept on the plane the night before, and it looked like this was going to be a long, tiring day. On top of that, it was the middle of July and the weather here was much too hot for his liking. Victor was someone not accustomed to things not going his way, his abilities making it a very rare occurrence, and it was something of a source of embarrassment for him that he was good at adjusting to it when something didn't suit him. But it could be worse. At least the people here ought to be more tolerable than the scientists and pompous government people he was used to dealing with. And he was getting a free apartment courtesy of the Metahuman Research Institute. Maybe today wouldn't be so bad after all.

((For now, just introduce yourselves and maybe talk to each other a bit. The boat will arrive soon enough.))

A new place to do my work, a government agent called me while I was finishing a previous... project, I had to quickly finish, and dispose of the body, now this Mary Hoffman is six feet under in my dump site, nothing to be traced to me. I looked around and saw others on the  boat to the island, other metahumans as we are called by most now. I stood near the back edge of the boat and looked at the wake, enjoying the moment of peace.

Gale sighed as she walked around the boat. She wasn't exactly happy with the new change, but it was probably better than Russia's alternative. "At least it's warmer." She thought, as  she made a arc of electricity intertwine with her fingers. She had developed her powers since she was young and was interested in experimenting with her own limits. She could fly by reversing her polarity, absorb electricity, a ability that she had been exercising in order to increase the amount she could take in and store at one time, and see electric currents of living and nonliving things to name a few.

Nico breathed in and out, feeling at home in the heat. Since he's from Australia, he is completely used to the heat. Sitting one of the chairs in the boat he was wearing a pair of khaki board shorts along with a dark green shirt. His hands were fiddling with a piece of technology, shaping and reshaping it depending on what he wanted. At first, it appeared to be a self-solving Rubik's Cube, then it was just an ordinary phone when he got bored of the cube. He sensed other pieces of technology nearby but resisted the urge to fiddle with them so as not to disturb their privacy.

@@Dji, Bored, I took the my shadow and condensed it around my arm creating a blade that covered my lower arm, I knew that it was sharp and I could kill with it or cut through most metals. I reformed the shadows into a proper sword complete with a scabbard that was now on my back, putting the shadow sword in the scabbard I looked around and found one man that seemed to fiddle with a phone even creating a Rubik's Cube. I decided to introduce myself,

"Hello there sir where are you from?"

Orion groaned yet again from his position above the toilet. Keeping the contents of his stomach right where they were, and not sprawled out across the deck had proven to be quite the challenge ever since the boat had begun its journey toward the island. It was almost like he could feel every wave lap the side of the boat, and this only served to accentuate his nausea. The only thing worse than his seasickness was the copious amount of heat that radiated down from the California Sun. He was used to frigid environment of Alaska, the place that he had called home for so many years, and the place where he had honed his ability to generate ice formations.

His reminiscence of Alaska was cut short however, when the boat suddenly lurched forward without notice. He was right back to his position over to the toilet, desperately struggling to keep down the airport food he had eaten earlier. "Oh, I hate boats. I hate boats, I hate boats, I hate boats," Orion thought as the boat slowly but surely approached the island.

Nico was so intently focused on manipulating the technology in his hands that he didn't notice someone approach him until he was asked a question. Startled, Nico formed a miniature spotlight in a panic. The light went off in his eyes and reverted back to being a Rubik's Cube. "Ack! Sorry! That happens when I get startled." Nico groaned and rubbed his eyes to get them back to regular vision standard. "You wanted to know my name, mate? It's Nico Hertup. At your service!" Nico waved his hand in greeting while rubbing his eyes with the other one. "That always blinds me ... what's your name?" Nico asked politely, sticking his hand out for the other person to shake.

Gale looked arou d the boat and noticed two other teens conversing. The girl also noticed that one of them was holding a what looked like a metal rubix cube a sent a small jolt of electricity at the metal casing. It wouldn't kill him, but it would be a major surprise.

*Alec was sitting on the deck of the boat staring at the sky with a blank look on his face. He looked rather like he was concentrating on something, but it wasn't very obvious as to what. One would also be able to tell, if they were nearby, that he seemed to humming a tune of some sort. The tune was to an old sea shanty that he had looked up years back. Being near the sea obviously reminded Alec of the tune, and music always helped him concentrate.*

-------

*Kain sat in the shadow of an overhang of the boat. Despite the heat, he was wearing a dark colored jacket, jeans, and fingerless gloves. Upon close inspection, one would discover his hands riddled with scars. If asked, Kain always played it off as work related injuries, but his identity as a hemomancer was a much more grim truth. What were the odds that the boat he had hidden on after one night's....... activities, would have been a transport ship to a metahuman sanctuary. This troubled him, as metahumans would certainly be less willing...... volunteers than normal humans. Kain sighed and looked off into the distance.*

"It would be nice if this didn't end up like Genosha, least not until I manage to get back to the mainland."

*Kain mumbled quietly.*

(And Kain immediately shows his true colors as a comic book nerd. Way to go Kain.)

"Nice to meet you too John." Nico said happily. He was about to answer when he felt an electric jolt go through the hand that was holding his Rubik's Cube. His hand seized and he dropped his Rubik's Cube before it began to shake extremely fast before the jolt stopped. He leaned forward then backward slightly as the after effects went through him and made his hair stand on end. "I did not do that. Someone must h-have put an electric jolt through the Cube." Nico said and slowly looked around to see who could have done it. This boat was full of metahumans so it had to be one of them.

Rikku sat at the end, sunhat shading her face as her hands remained folded in her lap. She watched Alec and listened to the tune carried on the breeze"Muito bonita, very pretty. Do you sail alot?"

Tora had clawed this way and that as soon as she got on the ship, inspecting every inch. "Snazzy" she twirled down the deck in a bright purple tank and short, sneakers helping her twirl as she danced.

@@Dji, I shrugged, "Don't worry about it it was obviously a little prank. So how much longer will we be on this boat, it's starting to lose it's novelty after a few hours." I looked around and apparently there were others that were messing around with their abilities, ranging from the classic abilities to quite interesting ones.

(Late start. My bad)

Zen sat on the floor of the ship, wearing an oversized hoodie and jeans, with his legs tucked in so that they reach his face. He was sitting there away from everyone else, just out of habit at this point. He silently contemplated what he would do once he got to his new home, if he could call it that. Haven Point was supposed to be safe for people like him, metas, but Zen knew better. He always ruined chances like this, chances to start anew. He'd always have to run, it was just a matter of how long this would last. Zen sighed, the last place he stayed, he accidentally set on fire. The time before that, he doused the place in fallout radiation. And even before then...Zen shook his head. He couldn't bring himself to remember before then, too much pain. Granted, he was better at controlling his powers now compared to then, but his hopes weren't high at this point. He just hoped that this place would last longer than the others.

"I got no idea." Nico shrugged and held his palm over the dropped Cube. Concentrating, he felt the technology contained within it and floated the Cube back up to rest in his palm. "What can you do?" Nico asked, looking and squinting a bit as the sun went in his eyes. He casually threw the Cube up and down, changing its function as he did. "Obviously, someone can manipulate electricity. Jist wondering what everyone else can do, seeming we're on our way to a 'safe' city for metahumans and I don't think the others are just tourists." Nico said plainly as he stopped tossing the Cube up into the air and back again. When he looked at his palm, he found that he had morphed the cube into a pair of headphones. Shrugging, he placed the grey headphones around his neck.

I drew the shadow sword I had on my back, "I can manipulate the shadows and even use them for short distance traveling as of late, The item in my hand is just as lethal as a real sword. So far I can't make complex mechanical items with my ability but this is still nice. My ability somehow can evolve overtime but using it speeds it up a bit."

"I guess I might as well introduce myself to them." Gale thought to herself, before simply walking towards the two teens. "So, I'm guess you two are meta as well?" She asked, trying her best to hide a slight nervousness. It's not that she wasn't scared, if they tried anything she could easily fry them. It's just that she was a bit shy when meeting new people.

@, I turned to the, woman that introduced herself, "You would be correct, Name's John." I realized the shadow sword I held in my hand. "Oh shit let me take care of something." I waved the blade and scabbard away,  and they reformed  back into my own shadow.  "There anyway, I'll let the dude next to me introduce himself."

@@RunsWithSquirlz,

Zen stood up to stretch his legs. "I wonder how close we are." He said as he looked over the side of the boat, seeing nothing but water for miles. He did enjoy it for a moment, just him and the sea, away from everyone else. He snapped out of it when he heard tapping, rhythmic tapping, and it was coming his way. He didn't really want to deal with people, never did, so he hid behind a crate. He then saw a girl, around his age, that is, if he aged. She was dancing down the ship, oddly enough. He was about to silently leave, but there was something about her. She seemed so happy.

"Thanks, and no, not really. I have a few times when I was little, but after a point I didn't really trust myself enough."

*He said with a shrug and a smile.*

"It is nice getting some practice though. Holding off rainstorms to maintain nice weather is pretty simple. Anywho, my name is Alec, Alec Snow, its nice meet you."

Ooc: Soz for not posting sooner, I was at work!

Louise stood apart from the others, wondering if anyone would approach her. Louise had been moved from foster home to foster home ever since the age of thirteen, and she had learned by now to keep herself to herself. Opening up to other people was difficult, especially after they found out who she was. This island might not be the Haven it was meant to be, but at least she would be among those who understood her, like regular people didn't.

"We are the future," she thought to herself. "They no longer matter."

Louise had clashed with regular humans a lot and had been in trouble regularly during her teenage years. The problem was, she had no respect for authority and demanded respect. She was powerful and had practiced her power ever since it had manifested when she was thirteen. Experimentally, Louise grew long bone claws from the back of her right hand, and retracted them again. Her power was the ability to use her own skeleton any way she wanted; she could create bone weapons that were harder than steel, or as soft and bendy as rubber. She could grow claws, a tail, or horns. She could make her bones rock hard or jelly soft, and she had a basic healing factor, too. But many humans cringed when they heard what she could do. There was something about her power which made people squeamish.

Stupidly, Nico was going to reach out to touch the sword but was interrupted someone introduced themselves. He looked over and found a girl standing there. "So, are you two meta as well?" When she asked the question, Nico took his headphones from around his neck and morphed them back into a cube.

"I know I am. What about you? As you saw, I can manipulate technology. Also, my name's Nico. What's yours? " Nico asked and stuck his hand out for her to shake. This girl seemed nice, even if she did look a bit nervous.

Zen moved from behind the crate when he got tired of watching. 'I don't get it' he thought, 'How could anyone be so happy?' He moved around the group he had unknowingly wandered close to, not wanting to encounter them either. He backed up away from them until he bumped into a girl by mistake and jumped out of fright. "AH!" He shouted. once he realized that he bumped into someone, he turned around and apologized. "I'm sorry, I should've been watching my step." he said with his head bowed.

"My name is Gale." She said, before shaking Nico's hand. "As for my power, I can basically control and fight with electricity and fly for long periods of time." The girl then gave a sly smirk and leaned against the railing. "So, where are you two from? I was born in Russia and decided to come here when the first metahumans were discovered there. I figured it would be a lot saver without the hypothermia."

@, Louise was standing by, lost in thought when someone bumped into her. She reacted instantly by spinning round to face the stranger and making bone claws come out of her hands. Louise relaxed when she saw that it was only one of the others on the boat, but not someone she'd seen before or spoken to.

"Apology accepted," Louise replied, pulling the claws back into her hands as she spoke. "I'm Louise, what's your name?"
