Hey everypony, I didn't see a thread for the upcoming season so I thought I'd start one up. What are your predictions for the league or for your team? I would love to get to know some hockey bronies here :D

I honestly have no idea. With both Shero and Bylsma gone, the Penguins have been in a state of flux during the offseason. I just hope they can at least make it to the playoffs, though I am concerned...

If they can't make playoffs with that roster I'll be dissappointed. As far as my Oilers I would like to see some bigger improvement last season haven't been that good.

Personally I'm just hoping Rinne returns to 2011-12 form to give Nashville a fighting chance, hopefully he's fully healed after the drama of last year, I don't want to see him with any further complications. I also like to keep an eye on the Arizona Coyotes and hopefully both will be contending for the playoffs this year :)

I think Nashville has some good developing talent like Forsberg and they acquired Neal from Penguins so If Rinne plays good I can see them coming strong this year.  ;)

I'm sure hoping so ;) Laviolette will hopefully get the offensive gears going too.

I sure would like to see the Oilers have a decent season (as I'm sure you would too  ), combining Nashville's defence with Edmonton's offence would be one great team :D

Again ... how I keep missing topics like these is beyond me.

Ok, I'm a Flyers fan and I normally go into a season with crazy ass high hopes. This season ... man. That Umberger trade took the wind out of my sails a little. Our Cap is freaking dangerous as it was and I loved Hartnell. Sigh. The good news is that our young Fowards are going to continue to provide strong lines. Laughton has some talent so I'll be watching him very closely. The really bad news ... White and Timonen. Get better soon guys. :(

From a Pens fan to a Flyers fan, I wish your team good luck this season. You all had a rough season last time out, so I hope to see your fortunes improves.

Just not at the expense of the Pens...who have plenty of questions to answer themselves; admittedly. >_<

Any Canuck fans in here? :P

They had a horrible season last year, brought in Miller now for an extra push in goal to help Lack develop more. I think he has a bright future ahead of him.

I just can't even predict what will happen, at least they have changed the coach, GM, and all that, so hopefully they regain some dignity.

I want to see the cup back in Canada, been too long.

No matter how you look at it, even if Bylsma wasn't put in a "lame duck" situation, guys would still be gone. There would have been a lot of changes, based on how many changes happened in the NHL. Ehrhoff, Downie, Hornqvist, Spaling, Comeau and Greiss aren't equal to what we lost, but there are guys in the minors that have seen time, and are easily ready to come up. Guys like Bortuzzo and Kapanen could easily make up for it, as well as Dupuis accelerated time table

Pens and Kings in Stanley Cup, Pens win it in 7 in an OT game. Calling it now.

Oh, I know. The Penguins were a good regular season team under Bylsma, but tended to collapse eventually in the playoffs.

To be fair I kind a lost track of all the movements that happened in the team; considering the soccer season and everything else going on.

But yeah, we lost some talent, but what we really need is chemistry. If the team has that I believe we'll be fine.

You've still got Sid, Geno, Kunitz, Letang, Duper, Bennett, Martin, Scuderi (why?), Adams, Goc, Zatkoff, Vokoun, Bortuzzo, Megna and Sutter.

Hornqvist and Bennett will play 2nd line with Geno. Spaling, Sutter and Comeau will play 3rd line. Adams, Goc and Downie will be 4th.

Bortuzzo plays EXACTLY like Orpik, so he'll probably be with Martin. Letang and Maatta wil be a pair, and Ehrhoff and Scuderi will be the 3rd pair.

Fleury will be starter, and Zatkoff will get backup again.

That's how I see it.

As long as the team has the chemistry, we should be fine at least. :)

There are reasons why these specific players were brought in. They're actually building the team around Sid and Geno. They'll have chemistry.

Fair point; I have some faith the team can surprise people this year.

I also hope that Fleury's confidence issues will be over with as well. I may be mistaken, but it seemed like he tended to lose confidence at key points of the season.
