Why hasn't this show won an award?

As the title says why hasn't FIM won an award yet? I mean we live in a world where almost naked animals(shudders)has won an award. In fact I've noticed that FIM doesn't get much acknowledgement from big TV critics in general, it's usually the smaller ones reviewing all the episodes. I mean the show has a very good reputation so why don't big critics notice it, can someone please explain to me why this show hasn't gotten an emmy or anything.

It's episodic format along with its targeted audiance keeps it from most film awards shows. You know, because the one feature length movie FiM does have is well.......

aweful. Alot of the time 22 minute episodic format shows don't get into award ceremonies like the emmy's.

And because those awards are mostly garbage anyway, FiM has won the only award it needs. Your heart.

It has though. The show was named the best animated show for the 2011–12 television season in a user poll on the website Television Without Pity. Marcel Duperreault, Todd Araki, Jason Fredrickson, and Adam McGhie received a 2014 Leo Award for their work on "Power Ponies" for "Best Overall Sound in an Animation Program or Series" on June 1, 2014. That is according to Wikipedia.

Do you watch the shows because of the awards they've won? I mean they are just awards it doesn't matter that much if those critics aren't interested in this show. And basically any show can win an award but not many shows win a place in your heart.

Because most of the episode in every season tend to be a "Hit and Miss". The show really need less writers and more talented one. Only MA Larson, Meghan and Amy Keating Rogers raise the level of this show beyond mediocre.

I believe Daniel Ingram the guy who makes the MLP music has won some kind of best musical score award for MLP at some point. And he has been nominated on many occasions for his MLP songs.

I'm not sure about the actors and such, but it wouldn't surprise me if they got an award at some point in the future. I can see Tara Strong getting some kind of recognition.

The show is eligible to be nominated for an Emmy (Daytime) - It just hasn't happened. Maybe 2015? Hub had three shows in the SC category this year.

2014 Nominees

Children's animated program

"Beware the Batman -- 'Secrets'" (Cartoon Network)
"The Fairly OddParents" (Nickelodeon)
"Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness" (Nickelodeon) WINNER
"Monsters vs. Aliens" (Nickelodeon)
"Turbo FAST" (Netflix)

Special class animated program
"Dan Vs." (Hub Network)
"Peter Rabbit" (Nickelodeon)
"Star Wars: The Clone Wars" (Cartoon Network) WINNER
"Transformers Prime Beast Hunters" (Hub Network)

Fullerton, Josh Haber, and Dave Polsky have contributed just fine to the overall body of the show.

It's been nominated to the Daytime Emmy's, for one.

Second, these awards are crap and don't matter. Emmy's, Grammy's, doesn't matter. Macklemore winning a Grammy over Kendrick Lamar is one prime example.

Third, WHY does it matter? The show is good, it doesn't need some fakie award to prove that.

Macklemore beat out Kanye West and James Blake too. Worst Grammy's ever :P

Right, in the Specialized Discipline Categories

It doesn't matter to me - why would you think I thought otherwise?

The industry awards have a purpose internal to the industry that awards them. They really aren't fundamentally made for the viewing public. The public just likes to see them, as some people do place an emphasis on them.

Now, the original poster seems to place some importance of these, so I figure it would be rude to marginalize his opinion or him. I'm not rude. I simply offered hope that maybe MLP may be nominated in an upcoming awards show - the next Daytime Emmys.

First bit: what are the SDC, exactly? On imdb it looks like to me that it was nominated in 2012, I think, for best song, twice.

Two, I wasn't saying that, I was saying that to OP.

Third, I wasn't trying to be mean; I just wanted to know why it matters if the show wins some award.

Right - music, writing, set, makeup, non televised awards - all are given by the ATAS, AMPAS for recognition in a specialized field or discipline. Anything other than Best Show or Best Actor.

And a frog just landed on my head

Ok

Also, the NATAS. Forgot the actual correct acronym. Bloody Daytime Awards.

I just had a new thought interestingly enough. I wonder if the adult fan base may actually be a hindrance to the show when voters cast ballets for nomination. Stigma and old fogeys don't go together.

If someone is going to be so biased they judge something by it's fans instead of on it's own merit they really shouldn't be judging for a awards show. That would be like me snubbing a anime because of the issues I have with the anime fandom at large.

It's not that I place serious importance on awards(and the emmys thing was just an example anyway)it's just that I'm still perplexed that again almost naked animals of all things has gotten more recognition(at least when it comes to awards)then this show.
