Sunset Shimmer's Enrollment in Canterlot High

So I saw another sneak peak at Rainbow Rocks (seen here: http://www.equestriadaily.com/2014/08/rainbow-rocks-sneak-peek-2.html). I wasn't a fan of the first one, but I'm liking what I see. One thing is really bugging me, though. A few of characters keep mentioning the fall formal from the previous movie and I got to thinking:

 

How has Sunset Shimmer not been expelled from Canterlot high? Even if we disregard the whole "demonic possession of several students" thing, she caused some pretty significant property damage. What's more, practically the whole school, including the principles, saw her do it. I don't think community service is going to cut it on this one, no sane school would allow her to keep attending.

I'm assuming Celestia decided to keep her around to watch over her reformation process. It's much better to have someone like that where you can keep an eye on them, and where they have good influences like the huMane 5, than to boot them out and risk some kind of relapse. She needs friends to grow as a person, and not having them was part of why she was so screwed up in the first place.

Twily saved the school and took away the demonic powers, Celestia says, "Nuf said!"  (Plus Human Celestia is a bit on the dim side [see line Most Exciting since Fall Festival {glance to Sunset}] Unless she's purposefully mean [you can't convince me that one])

Well, the magical pony goddess that is the pony Celestia most likely hand a hand in her staying around. She does need a controled environment in order for her to really grow as a person and canterlot high can provide such an environment. So it is most likely due to some form of magical involvment.

 

And of course the ever present plot convinence. No government agencies are involved dispite 6 students turning into half ponies and flying, and another student turning into a litteral daemon. EqG is almost known for its rather large plot holes, and I would just chalk this up to that, as in the 2nd sneak peak, none of the other denziens of the city noticed the giant rainbow explosion. So either only people from Equestria can bear witness to the magic (although that would not coincide with the actions of the humane 5) or they just kept her around for a small redeption story. Because they can.
