Back to school 2014

Maybe for some of you this thread is a bit or a lot late, but 'round these desolate parts we don't start until Wednesday.  Still, it's all coming to a head.  Got my books and classes, my roommates are all moved in.  I'm ready as I'll never be to start Sophomore year.

What about y'all?  What grade/year are you in?  What classes are you taking?  What are you excited for?  What are you nervous about?  P.S.  If you already started, just change all the are's to were's.  That oughta do it.

I'm Year 12, sitting NCEA Level 2. I'm taking the compulsory core subjects of; English and Religious Education. My classes that I chose were; Biology, Classical Studies, Economics, and Statistics.

I'm excited for the upcoming end of year, but am nervous for the end of year exams. I really want to do well this year. :)

By the looks of your profile you live in the U.S... are your school terms *that* different?!  :wau:

The school term started about 7 weeks ago here in Australia; and the school year started 6 months ago!

The U.S just got off their summer holidays, I believe. Which is the same as our Christmas holidays, except in the middle of the year. :)

NCEA, much like the GCSE in the United Kingdom is a form an educational standard. Many high schools use this form of education standard, but not all do. The closest equivalent I could find in the United States which resembles this is the SAT, and ACT tests.

The entire year of what you learn is based around your end of year exams, there are also exams during the year called "internals" which also give you credits. Which are basically just points, and are what universities look at once you leave school.

I am probably Grade 8. The subjects I like to take in were English, Computer, Math. But I have other subjects (those I said were my favorites). I probably excited for..............pretty much nothing :l. Nervous about my new experience when I am in a new school.

That said, I started in June because my summer was in April and May.

This is my junior year in high school, and it's gonna be the exact same as last year.

I'm gonna ace all my classes and my girlfriend's never gonna accept any of my help and she'll finish with c's.

I started my senior year of high school on Monday.

I'm kinda stressing out already. I have major social anxiety so going back to school freaks me out, although I'm going to see a specialist soon so hopefully some of my anxiety will be dealt with.

The classes I'm taking this year is English 4, Culinary Arts, Aquatic Science, Pre AP Pre Cal, Painting, a semester of World History and a semester of Small Animal Management. I only do 3 classes a day cause I have early release every day. :P

Yuuuuh, senior peeeeerrrrks.

@Phoenix Flair Speaking of sophomore year I have started it 3 weeks ago. Schedule: English 2, Geometry,  Algebra 1 (failed first year XD), Government, Lunch, P.E., Drivers ED, then finally world history.

I was nervous for any of my friends to make drastic changes like change really bad. None of them really did to much.

I was really excited about driving. And so far I hate doing it but so far it is going good so far.

Not going back myself, but I've noticed that people are going back earlier and earlier. School in early-August? That sucks

I went back to school for the first time in 3 years last year but burned out afterwords and didn't take spring semester. I am back again and I have some failsafe measures that will hopefully prevent me from burning out again. I honestly don't know at this point what "grade" I am technically in because I have been going to school on and off for 7 years. All I know is that I am fairly close to enough credits to transfer to a 4 year university but because my GPA went so far down the crapper I will have to bring it up to a respectable level before that is ever going to happen.

I'm in 12th grade this year, which makes me a senior at high school. :yay: I'm pretty happy about school starting up again, since it'll give me something better to do than just sitting around at home all day. :P As for classes, most of them are just normal ones (English, math, science, world history, French) since my school doesn't offer many electives.

I'm a college junior who started this Wednesday. I'm currently taking engineering communications, computation, dynamics, thermodynamics, government, and I'll be joining the university's pep band (plays at smaller sport events).

I started my junior year of college last Monday. I'm an accounting major so I pretty much focus on Accounting and Business-related courses. As for where I'm living, I will be in an on-campus apartment with my fraternity brothers (it's a service fraternity so don't get any ideas). Overall, I'm excited for any surprises and challenges the new year has for me. That's it, basically.

I was excited about seeing my friends and taking new classes. I ended up taking Art, PE, and Technology. I try to mix it up every year. As for academical classes, I got math, science, language arts (grammar, english, whatever you want to call it), and history. I didn't get any honors classes, not like I expected to anyway :P. I was hoping to get honors language arts though.

I was pretty nervous about schoolwork/homework. We're getting a lot more than we did last year. I was also nervous about meeting new people. I didn't know a whole lot of people in most of my classes.

Yup
