gaming Games that would make GREAT movies

From what I have observed, quite a few games out there that could be made into movies do to their creative storyline.

 

One game I thought would make a great movie is Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

This is do to the plot, characters, and twists in the storyline.

If acted out correctly, I believe something like this coudl be done.

 

So what game do you think would make a great movie?

Halo.

You couldn't really follow the Master Chief, as he doesn't have enough of a personality to carry a movie.

But what you could do is follow characters like those seen in ODST, and have the Spartans appear as the god like hero's of the battlefield that they are in the canon. With such a diverse option for locations and characters, and massive action set peices it would be a very good sci fi war movie.

Fallout? Of course, don't follow the events of Fallout 3 or Fallout New Vegas, but a cool movie would be the Anchorage Missions, hearing the backstory would be EXCELLENT.

Damn..........you beat me to it, lol.  However, I couldn't agree more, Halo seriously needs a "good-budget" film.  Not like that piece of crap, Foward Unto Dawn or that upcoming Nightfall (which should be alright)

Most of the games I think would be most appropriate for a movie are already pretty cinematic or have too much content for a movie to be worthwhile. Basically, I don't think movie adaptations of the more narrative games would do the games' justice.

 

Though, some of the shorter games might work a bit better. I could see movie adaptions for games like Ib or To The Moon.

One interesting Idea for a movie would be a movie based on the Lonesome Road DLC/Add-On for Fallout New Vegas. It doesn't really have to follow the events in the Fallout New Vegas game, but it would be really interesting to see someone recreate it to fit a movie.

 

Another Idea that I have is not really a famous one, but it would be very interesting to see as a movie (whether it would be live-action or animated). I would love to see the game Perfect Dark be made into a movie, or a cartoon series for if it is to be animated. It would be the regular alien "invasion" (I put the quotation marks around Invasion because they do not really invade anything, but they are involved) type movie, but it would involve two major corporations in a conflict trying to either protect or destroy the Earth (I know, Corporations protecting/destroying the Earth seems "completely different" to what we have already seen). It may not seem like much at first, but it would seem interesting to watch.

Well, I think the Elder Scrolls could make the interesting movie. As we know, the games, while existing within the same timeline, are largely independent from one another. As such, I think a movie could take this same route, yet go with different characters & stories.

 

At the same time, and Skyrim adaptation done right would be TOTALLY bad ass. All I want is a badass Alduin. LOVED him as a villain.

 

To be fair, I think most WRPGs could make a great movie. The Witcher would especially be interesting to try; though obviously rated R.

I would say Beyond Two Souls, but that one's already a movie pretty much.

 

I would like to see The Cat Lady become a movie, even if it would probably be rated R.  I just love the story of that game, and I think it would be even better without interactiveness holding it back.

 

Oh, and maybe Rule of Rose, too.  So then I could finally figure out what the heck was going on in that one.

It is a fun game to play in my opinion.

The main character is a female agent (Named Joanna Dark) working for a corporation known as the Carrington Institute during a conflict with its rival known as the dataDyne Corporation, which is basically the greedy corporation with government connections that will do anything to be the number 1 corporation on the planet.

The Deus Ex series would make excellent movies. It's gritty, dark, has conflict, has action, an intriguing story...

 

If you guys ever played an old game called "Anachronox", that there is one of my all time favorites. The storyline itself merits credit, it's definitely one of the best written things ever. I would pay to see that, definitely.

 

Mass effect, obviously.

 

Fallout series.

Honestly, with enough effort & care, any games could in theory be a great movie. I mean, a game like Mortal Kombat, with its very limited plot & limited character personalities, turned out to be a pretty fun movie. Flawed, yeah, but fun.

 

On the flip side, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time was a decent movie, but ultimately forgettable.

 

I know I mentioned Elder Scrolls, but anything from Spyro the Dragon to Bioshock to Red Dead to even Call of Duty could be a great movie.

I've only played Human Revolution, but I agree with the above.

 

And having gotten my joke answers out of the way lol...  I think a Metroid or Castlevania movie could work.  If you have some competent writers and a director who takes the project seriously.  Metroid would be suspenseful sci-fi with some action, and Castlevania would be period horror (nothing overly graphic) and action.

Alan Wake, Alice Madness Returns, Bioshock Infinite, Outlast, and Portal 2 might all be interesting to see as movies. I wouldn't mind Heavy Rain either.

 

Both Alan Wake and Heavy Rain already kind of feel like movies.
