'Pinkamena' is just Pinkie Pies full name.

I don't know why people refer to Pinkie pie's depressed state as Pinkamena specifically. When Pinkie Pie is being regular Pinkie Pie all the Pinkie Pie time of the Pinkie Pie day, she is Pinkamena.

It's simply a way to distinguish the two parts of her character. It'd be confusing to always refer to her as "sad Pinkie" and "normal Pinkie".

Just to draw a distinction between the two sides of Pinkie when fans talk about them. Since there are times that she is sad and not straight maned, saying 'sad Pinkie' wouldn't work as well. It basically leads to better communication when discussing the character.

Pinkamana Diane Pie could also be just her filly name and she just changed it to make it easier for folks to remember.

Her first name was Pinkamena back in her farm days, before she discovered her true, happier self which was followed later on by adopting the nickname Pinkie Pie. I think it's more of the fans' way of distinguishing this incredible contrast in her personality.

I think it is because Pinkamena was her normal name before she found friendship. When she thinks her friends abandoned her, the essence of Pinkie Pie was diminished.

The name "Pinkie" is Pinkie's nickname, which connotates with her fun, happy personality and behavior most of the time. Pinkamena is her more formal, and thus serious actual name. Besides the fact that it was given to her by her serious, dour, and boring parents and the rock farm is also a rather boring and grey place, but that doesn't automatically mean its a depressing place, at least not to Pinkie anyways.  "Pinkamena" simply reflects where she came from and hence corresponds with her saddened mood for many fans. Of course the show itself never referred to Pinkie when she was sad in Party of One as such.

 

Also none of this should suggest that Pinkie's time on the Rock Farm was bad. She loves her sister Maud, who probably reflects her family and the Rock Farm's image the most. As was the case in Party of One not too surprisingly, Pinkie just felt initially that she didn't fit in with the rest of her family and wanted some change.

Within the realm of canon, there is no "evil one."  There's the one that sought to substitute her pony friends with rocks and a bucket of turnips, which I do not interpret as evil.  Also, Madame le Flour seemed like a HOOT.
