music need some help with FL studio

recently i decided to start making little songs on fl studio as a hobby, since i have always felt a thing for hip hop instrumentals.

 

recently i decided to work on a song for a friend on his birthday, hoever, i have hit a kind of stagnation as not only dont know how to continue it and i dont have full knowledge on the thing.

 

so mostly im asking for any tips, recommendations, tutorials etc on how to make the most of fl studio and what i have to follow to not screw up much.

I think my main problem is making proper sounds, specially drums an bass.

 

The samples dont sound like i want them to but i dont know how to like twist them intomsounding differently.

What drum sounds are you using? 

 

Have you experimented with different bass sounds in the plugins such as Harmor or styrus?

 

There's a ton of diffrent sounding basses and there's alternative free VST plugins online

actually i havent, i have mostly been using the ones that come with the studio.

Look up free sample packs... That's what I use and it works quite well. Although I haven't used FL all that much, if you need any specific questions answered let me know.
