Rainbow Rocks Soundtrack

So the Rainbow Rocks soundtrack is coming out today on iTunes, and since I'm too impatient to just wait for the movie I'm going to get it.

At the moment though, iTunes seems to be taking their sweet time on actually releasing it though.

Thoughts will come later when I have it in my simulated digital hands.

Do you need to pay anything for it? I Don't use itunes that much. This is amazing,I really do hope they have some rock in it. I know that's not their style but it most be called rainbow rocks for a reason, plus in they clips we have seen Rainbow do a awesome riff on guitar,Applejack do a spectacular riff on bas and Rarity and Pinkiepie both goes wild on respective instrument(keytar,drumset.). That most mean something. (or at least i hope it does)

I was really disappointed with the MLP soundtrack on Itunes so I am not going to get the soundtrack of the movie. But still, I can only hope it will contain all the songs from the movie rather than just 20 minutes of select songs from the show.....

If you listen to the instrumental parts of the songs released so far, with the exceptions of "Music to My Ears"  and "Under Our Spell", they actually are rock songs. They're not exactly very metal or anything, but they are rock nonetheless.

Correction: on further listening "Under Our Spell" is backed by industrial rock.

Fun exercise:

Ignore the vocals and just listen to the instrumental part of Under Our Spell:

and compare to some Pretty Hate Machine era Nine Inch Nails

Okay it just gets worse the more Nine Inch Nails I listen to.

Compare "Under Our Spell" to "Closer". You know, "I want to fuck you like an animal, I want to feel you from the inside"

somewhere Trent Reznor is crying over the long lost edginess of his music.

@Andaasonsan, since you taking the plunge first, how spoilery are the unreleased songs? Even though I can surmise some of the plot, there are still enough unknowns for me.

:D

Still waiting for the album to be released. I'll let you know when I finally have it.

Meanwhile I will go back to mourning the memories of my teenage years that I just inadvertently ruined.

-------------------------------------------

Why, why have I done this? I've started comparing "Closer" to "Battle of the Bands" and I now truly understand the meaning of "secrets man was not meant to know".

Oh man, you're right. I can see it. Some of the parts do sound a bit like Nine Inch Nails if you can ignore the lyrics.

Now when I listen to them, I'm going to think of happy friendship ponies ><

Nice. I've liked the music we've heard in the sneak peaks, clips, etc. so far, so this should be good.

I must say though, I'm a bit surprised they are releasing the soundtrack for the movie before.. you know, the movie is out. Seems a bit strange.

Obviously they want us to learn the words to the songs in advance and annoy everyone else in the theater by singing along.

Marketing genius like that has to be fulfilled. If anyone happens to hear an off key out of pitch 30 something singing in a theater in Central Florida ... blame Hasbro Marketing. :D

On the subject of singing along to the songs during the movie, I heard that in the theaters when Equestria Girls ( 1 ) was playing bronies would scream when they saw a pony they liked in the background. ( Like Lyra, Derpy, etc. )

It just sounds really obnoxious. I'm hoping bronies don't pull crap like that when I go watch it.  >_>

Anyways, back on the subject of the music releasing, did it still not come out yet? If not, I highly doubt it ever will today. Maybe they made a mistake in the date?  :pout:

S’out now. I’ve only listened to the previews because I don’t wanna pay money for it :derp:.

Not a fan of how it seems to be throwing Rainbow Dash under the bus, going off that one preview clip and Awesome As I Want to Be, which should not have been her first solo song ever >_>. Oddly enough though, it kinda grew on me over time. I like the fast paced rock aspect of it more than most of the other Rainboom songs.
