Did MLP predict the future?

The Equestrian currency is known as bits, it is predicted that in the future BIT coins will be the worldwide currency, I wonder if in the future when something is say five bit coins will people say "that's five bits", so has MLP predicted a future saying.

Money called "bits" has been around since colonial days. Most money was based off the Spanish real which would divide into eight smaller units. (Which is why we always hear pirates in movies talking about "pieces-of-eight") In English speaking places, these smaller coins were referred to as "bits". Long after a dollar that breaks up into one-hundred cents was introduced, people were still used to thinking in terms of bits, so 12.5 cents would be known as a "bit".

So in the famous short diddy, "shave and a haircut, two bits" the haircut and shave would cost twenty-five cents.

MLP and the makers of crypto-currency are likely referencing this old system, with the crypto-currency also being a reference to the smallest unit of digital information, a "bit". Oddly enough of course, like old dollars, a byte is made up of eight bits.

Funny how this historical context post was all but ignored by everyone in following comments (except ggg-2).

Also apparently there are no Who Framed Roger Rabbit fans here. ;)
