It's been a while since our last contest, so let's have one up for November! Since SkyBound's currently busy with other things, I'll take over for the time being.

We've been thinking of ways to spice things up, and having themes for each contest sounds like a good way to do that. Basically, we'll have a list of themes (minus the last one), and we'll pick something from it randomly.

Submit your entry via PM to Aquila by the deadline listed below. Everyone will then get the chance to vote for their favorite banner in an Octavia's Hall thread. The winning banner will be displayed for all to see! We'll also be listing those in second and third place.

If you're new to the banner-making scene, check out this thread and this FAQ. In short, banners should be around 1000x255 pixels and saved as a .png file.

Starting Date: Right Now!

Due Date: Saturday, November 1st 11:59 PM (EDT)

Voting Open: Saturday, November 1st 11:59 PM (EDT)

Voting Closes: Saturday, November 8th 11:59 PM (EST)


And the rules, adapted from the previous set:


-One entry per member

-All entries must adhere to the current theme

-Anyone who wishes to edit an entry that has already been sent may due so, so long as the revised version is submitted before the due date.

-All entries must have the name of the forums, MLP Forums, as well as being pony-centric and related to the show in some way. That being said, feel free to be creative!

-All forum rules still apply. Any entries that do not adhere to these rules will not be accepted.

-Please do not post your entries anywhere else on the forums until after the voting has ended. While I can understand your excitement to show others your hard work, keep in mind that all submissions that are posted in the voting thread are done so without any artists' names attached, thus keeping the contest on a level and fair playing field.

Also, Halloween's coming up soon! If you'd like to make a banner for that, please send one in before Friday, October 31! It's not part of this contest, so it can be any pony (or ponies) you want.

I guess it is just purely 'iffy' for me right now. Indecision and all of that.

Ooohhh... If I actually find the time, I really think I may want to make something for this! ^3^ Though I am uncertain what particular image size the banner would have to be. :/ Any help on that one anypony? :/

Since the deadline is going to be the 1st, are we allowed to make a Christmas banner? I mean, as long as it's Apple Jack?

 

@TheAnonBrony I use FireAlpaca. I also have a mac as well, and it works really well for me. :3 If not, you can try GIMP. It's compatible with both Mac and windows. However though, I had very bad luck with it not working.

Hearths Warming Eve may be appropriate, though the timing may still be early. Then again they are already pushing Christmas sales :wau:
