Hey everypony, i was thinking back to a few years ago and i remembered when i almost died. I was swimming in the ocean when i was sucked up by a riptide. It pulled me SUPER far from the shore and i could not stay afloat. While underwater i struggled to get up, but alas i could not. As i blacked out, i remember feeling peaceful and seeing visions of my family and friends and highlights of my life. I awoke in a flash and thought for sure i was in Heaven or somewhere. Obviously i was not, but as i came to my senses i realized i almost just died! Anypony else had a near death experience?

I once was hiking up this cliff face by a lake and there was a waterfull. We were walking under it and a slipped and fell probably 25 feet. Landed right inbetween my legs. How i didn't break anything or die, ill never know, but it hurt so bad i migh as well have been dead :(

The worst injury I've had was impaling my foot on a piece o' metal, but it wasn't really serious just because it was the size of a pencil tip.

Actually, I've had 2 near-death experiences that I can remember now. When I was 2, I developed pneumonia (That how you spell it?). It was pretty much the reason why I had move out of Finland (Yes, I have some Scandinavian ancestry  ). Then, when I was in 1st grade, I caught the rota virus and I became severely dehydrated. The only way I could pull out of it was IV therapy, but I hated shots by every strip of my soul (I still hate 'em now, I just take deep breaths in order to ease the pain), but then my mom said "It's either the shot, or you die". You pretty much knew what I chose after that.

i was once about to drown at the age of about 3-4

backstory: we were at a theme park, and they had a water funworld there. we were at a place where there were a myriad of different sized pools in all kinds of shapes and forms, some deeper than others and so forth.

alright, so being the little kid i was, i of course sprint forward to one of those pools that were a wee bit too big for me, by a long shot. i stepped to the edge of the pool, and dropped in, unbeknown to the pool's depth and how dangerous it was for me to do so.

i stood on the bottom for about 10-15 seconds. then i saw a shadow raise itself from the edge of the pool, and i was pulled up by the security guard. had my family not spotted me as i stepped into the pool, things could have gone very badly.

that's how i developed my fear of deep water that lingered for years. it's gone now, and i love the water more than anything, despite how deep it is, but i still got a deep respect for the depths of the big blue. because i know how terrible things can go down there.

A few years ago, my dad was driving me to this before-school thingy, and it happened to he snowing. It was about 6:30 AM. I would've driven myself, but my car wouldn't've been able to make it, and he didn't want his car left at my school all day.

A little up the road (we live on a mountai), where the main road intersects a gravel road, there were two cars on the side with, one empty and the other with two dudes in it. My dad rolled down his window to ask if they were okay. One of them replied with something like "yeah, my friends car ran out of gas, we were just about to go down to the gas station to get some gas."

We drove on, suspecting that the dude was full of shit, and voicing our opinions as to what they were really doing. Since it's a gravel mountain road that's out of the way (except the one place where intersects the road in our neighborhood), we get all kinds of weirdos up there. People have dumped trash, stolen cars, even a few bodies along that road. My dad and I were both thinking it was a drug deal or something.

Anyway, the road we take through the neighborhood goes over the summit of the mountain (only about 2000' in elevation), and start coming down. We were talking, and I guess we were both pretty distracted because my dad didn't notice he was going 30 miles an hour downhill in 3 inches of snow coming up on a curve.

Needless to say, we were unable to stay on the road. I'd like to say that I thought something deep, like I saw my life flash before me, or I thought about everything that was truly important to me, but I was really tired and my only thought was "oh fuck, that airbag is going to hurt my face".

I'm not sure exactly how it happened, but we ended up sideways and rolled twice down the mountain (about 30-45 degree incline at this particular part) before we were stopped by a big ass tree. My dad and I just sat there, upside down and suspended by our seatbelts, for a few second before checking to see that we were both okay. Ironically, the airbags did not go off, and my face was perfectly unharmed, as was the rest of both our bodies. We climbed awkwardly out of the drivers side window and walked back home. The two dudes and their cars weren't there, which confirmed that they were lying (and actually, we found out later that they had indeed been dealing meth).

Sooooooo... Yeah, that's my story.

When i was 6 i was walking on a very wet area of sand near water and it wasn't very stable (there was even a sign saying not to go onto the sand). But i ended up sinking very fast into the sand and all that was sticking out was my arm and if it weren't for my step dad realizing that there was something wrong i wouldn't be posting this :/

The only time i had feel like i was going to die was in a indoor roller coaster. I was too big for it (I have been always a little big formy age xP) but i decided to enter either way. Everything was perfect until we rechaed the peak of it. I saw a metal stick just at the height of my head, i instinctively hid my head between legs. I dont know if i had an allucination or it really was there, but i felt like it was real because when the rollercoaster stopped, i was pale and i was hiperventilated.

That's my story xP

I've almost drowned multiple times cuz if I can't see the surface, I panic like crazy.
Also, once I fell off a 25-30 foot cliff that ended up on a bunch of sharp rocks in the water, and landed on THE only ledge on the whole thing. So lucky I survived.
And I got a terrible virus in Grade 2/3. I was a skeleton-I couldn't eat for a solid 9 months.

I don't REMEMBER these but apparently I had two of them. I had a twisted stomach when I was born and had a 50/50 chance of life or death.

And then when I was 7, I was 30-minutes away from going into a coma caused by a bizarre yellow fever, before I was rushed to hospital with the right antidotes.

I got hit by a pickup in my neighborhood, probably one of the most terrifying experiences i've ever had. Had to have some surgery and stitches, but miraculously the damage wasn't near as bad as I might have anticipated.

When I was 10 I tripped and fell when I was ice skating and hit my head against the wall as I was falling down,I could of sworn that the impact cracked my skull and I was a few minutes from bleeding out, but the next thing I know was on my way to the hospital to get a few dozen stitches and I was thankfully alright.

I almost lost my arm when I got cut by glass when I was 10 and l lost a lot of blood. Cut through almost to the bone and I had to get over 400 stitches. Strangely it happened on the 5th anniversary of 9/11.
