I had this same feeling about her. It usually feels cheap to create a character and then do a 180 to complete their story, and never mention them again.

It happened to Babs.

It happened to Diamond Tiara.

It happened to Starlight, kinda. They found a cheap excuse for her being a dictator and made her a new good character instead, kinda killing her off in the process.

But, then they did Sunset Shimmer just right, and made Equestria Girls right. So I don't complain after that
