Pinkie placed the muffin in a paper bag and began to pass it over to the stallion at the other side of the counter. However, the minutes hand on the clock hit twelve when her hoof was an inch away from the stallion's.

 

"Oh, um... sorry, we're closed. I can't sell you anything now," apologised Pinkie.

 

The stallion was annoyed, so he snatched the bag, threw money on the counter, and stormed out.

 

Pinkie winced. "Okay, that was a little over-the-top, don'tcha think?"

 

She sat down at a table and began munching on a cupcake.

Storm was woken from his nap when somepony made a ruckus stomping under him. "Huh? whazzut?" He yawned as he got onto his hooves and stretched looking down from his cloudy spot. Looking around he noticed a stallion stomping away from Sugarcube corner all Huffy-like.

 

"Jeeze, what crawled up his muffin?" Storm asked of nopony in particular. Then he looked back at Sugarcube Corner. "Speaking of muffins... I could soo go for one of my usual coco choc chocolate muffins... Mmmm..." Storm licked his licks his lips. "Hope that they haven't sold out yet..." He mused. Not noticing, or maybe not bothering to check, what time it was, Storm walked over to Sugarcube Corner and opened the door.

Pinkie looked up to see her good friend Storm Shine opening the door. "Oh, hiya, Stormy!" she greeted him. "Um, sorry, we're closed, I was just about to lock the door," she explained. "But since you're here and we haven't locked up, I can still sell you stuff, if you like!" she offered.

"Well, That'd be great! But only if you aren't going to get in trouble for it." Storm said. "I don't want to get the Cakes upset at you or anything." He shrugged. "And it''s not like I can't wait till tomorrow..." Storm mused. "Hmm... Hey Pinkie, off topic... Do you know if anypony is looking to hire a guitar player around here? I mean, you do seem to know just about everything that goes on around Ponyville..." He asked.

Pinkie Pie looked at her "LIST OF PONIES WHO NEED INSTRUMENT PLAYERS". "Let's see... drum player, trumpet player, piano player, bongo player, flute player, ocarina player, bass player, snarfblat player, DVD player..."

 

She looked up. "Sorry, nopony is looking for a guitar player at the moment..."

Storm shrugged. "Meh, that's alright.. It's not important anyways, just thought I'd ask..." He told her. "I guess I'd better head home, since you are closing up.. So I guess I'll see you later Pinkie. Have a nice night!" Storm said, flashing her a smile and turning to walk back towards his house.

"Hey, Storm, wait up!" said Pinkie. She stopped in front of him. "I don't really have anything to do tonighr, so I was wondering just now..." she said. "Wanna sleepover tonight? We can chat and eat cupcakes! It would super-duper fun and a great way to get tired before going to bed!"

"Er- uhm... S-sure?" Storm stuttered out with a small blush, taken off guard by the sudden proximity of Pinkie. "I guess that makes sense... Anything I should grab beforehoof? A movie, or a boardgame or anything?" He asked her after regaining his composure, smiling a bit nervously. "Well.... I certainly didn't expect this to happen after waking up from a nap..." Storm thought. "Then again.. what did I expect?"

Pinkie Pie smiled. "Oh, no worries. I've got plenty of stuff upstairs in my room!" She trotted back inside and approached the staircase, waving Storm over. "So, what do you wanna do first? Watch a movie? Play a board game? Play a video game? Eat snacks? Do all of them at once?"

Storm shrugged again as he walked over. "I don't really have a preference right now... But I'm not sure I could do it all at once...." He said uncertainly. "So I think I'll leave that choice up to you, if that's all right..." Storm told her. "Oh man, I hope nothing goes wrong tonight... What if I screw something up? What if I make Pinkie upset? What if I- No, no, no.. Stop psyching yourself out Storm... Everything will go fine, I'm sure... I hope..." He thought

Pinkie tilted her head. "Y'know, Storm," she said. "You're usually pretty full of energy! I've seen how fast you can arrange all those clouds!" she told him. "Is something troubling you? Or are you tired? It is getting rather dark, after all."

"Erm... no, I just don't want to end up breaking something I guess..." Storm told her. "Wouldn't be very good if I sped around and ended up smashing a light, or something..." He explained. "I also find it hard to be hyper and all over the place like normal, when I end up so nervous around you..." He thought to himself. "Maybe if I just push through the nervousness, I can pull myself together...?"

She cantered upstairs. "You coming or what?" she called from the top of the staircase.

Storm looked over Pinkie's shoulder. "Who are you talking to?" He asked. "Did Mr. and Mrs. Cake come in? Or maybe it's a ghost?" Storm paused. "Than again, I don't think this place can have ghosts... Can it? Maybe they liked baked goods so much in life, and gravitated towards a bakery in afterlife? Hmmm.."  He pondered aloud, sitting down. "I wonder if ghosts can have allergies..."

Pinkie Pie giggled at Storm Shine's display. "I was talking to you, silly!" she told him, nudging him playfully. "And that's more like it. The hyper, eccentric Storm Shine I know!"

 

"And about these hypothetical ghosts..." she went on. "How about me and you go ghost-hunting?"

"Hmm... Hypothetical ghost-hunting or actual ghost-hunting?" Storm asked, looking around. "Because I'm not sure if I'm right... But if I am, we know what to 'hypothetically' use as bait!" He exclaimed, raising a hoof into the air. "Hypothetically, those ghosts would be toast!" Then he paused. "But then again, what if they are friendly ghosts? Like Windless Breeze, the friendly ghost?"

'Okay, wow, even I don't know what he's talking about,' thought Pinkie.

 

"Um... how about we watch a movie about ghosts?" she suggested. "That'll be a surefire way for us to grab some ideas and inspiration for hunting down ghosts?"

 

"Though that would seem a bit hypocritical, since we fear ghosts hunting us down..."

"Okay! That sound like a good plan!" Storm said with a nod. "Any movies in mind?" He asked. "Though I wouldn't call it hypocritical, since it'd be more like facing your fears than a 'do as I say, not as I do'...." Storm exclaimed. "I don't really know a lot of ghost-related movies though..."

Pinkie rummaged through the box of DVDs before she took out a box. She held it up to reveal the title: "My Sister is a Ghost?"

 

"Well, here's a 'ghost-related movie'!" she said, before collapsing onto the floor in a fit of giggles and kicking the air with her hooves as she did so.

Storm held his fore-hooves to his muzzle to attempt to hold in his laughter. In his attempt to hold it in, Storm started inflating like a balloon. Finally he couldn't hold it in anymore. "Pfff-Ahahahahhaahhaahah!" He laughed, before.. "Aaaah!" The air whooshed out of his mouth, sending Storm flying out of control through the air like a, well a deflating balloon. He even made the same noise as he flew around the room.

Pinkie walked over to look at the deflated Storm on the ground. "Um, sorry, fella," she said. "But don't worry! I can get you back to normal!"

 

She grabbed a balloon pump and inserted the nozzle into Storm's mouth. She inflated him until he was a ball.

 

Her eyes followed him as he floated up to the ceiling. "Er, did I do it a little too much?"

Storm wiggled his limbs as he lightly bounced against the ceiling. "Maybe a bit too much, yeah..." He said thoughtfully.Whoosh! He deflated like a balloon once more. "Hang on, I've got this.." Storm told Pinkie, sticking a hoof in his mouth. He blew on the hoof in his mouth, which inflated him to just the right amount. "There we go, good as new!" He exclaimed with a grin.

"Well, at least you would have made a great decoration for the party I'm hosting in a couple days!" joked Pinkie.

 

"And that is some amazing ability you have there. Inflating and deflating at will," commented Pinkie. "I can think of more situations where it would come in handy than the amount of treats we sold today!"

Storm laughed with Pinkie at her joke. "Heh, I could be a talking pony-rug..." He thought, before pausing at what Pinkie said next. "Yeah, it's an interesting thing to do... But what kind of situations would I really use it?" Storm asked Pinkie, tilting his head to the right.

Pinkie took out a clipboard. "Well, you could be a variety of objects, such as a balloon, or a rug, or a mast for a flag or a small ship, and those come with many sub-advantages."

 

"You could rent yourself out to somepony who needs to use you... you could disguise yourself..."

 

As she continued to brainstorm, she wrote the ideas down on the clipboard.

 

"As for the disguise idea, that would be if you were running and hiding from somepony like a guard or a cop, or you could travel with somepony as an item of luggage, and not have to pay a Bit! Although the pony you're travelling with would probably expect some payment..."
