Would Sunset Ever Go Back To Equestria?

Do you think given the chance Sunset would ever go back to equestria? Not that she really has a reason to, all her friend are in the human world. Do you think Celestia would even allow her to come back?, she seemed pretty ticked the last time they seen each other :derp:

I'm hoping Sunset is at least given the choice, maybe in the next EG movie. If it wasn't for her, the Dazzlings would have most likely defeated the Humane 6, so I'd hope Celestia recognises her redemption and offers her an olive branch. I think she would stay in the human world for her friends, plus I feel she adds something special to the human group of friends, whilst she might be even more of an outsider if she was in Equestria. I'd like to see her choose to stay having made amends with Celestia, kind of like how Kenai chooses to stay a bear for Koda in Brother Bear (different circumstances I know but you get the idea  :muffins:  ) She admitted she has a lot to learn about friendship, but I think she has a better chance of doing that with her friends at Canterlot High.

Princess Celestia doesn't seem like she would hold a grudge like that, and would trust Twilight Sparkle if she vouches for Sunset Shimmer.

Now would she want to go back? Equestria is her birthplace and where she has spent most of her life. I would be surprised if she didn't feel some homesickness. Oh also in Equestria she has telekinesis. Telekinesis is awesome.

But she has made a life for herself in her new world, so I don't think that's something she'll want to give up. (I'm still not exactly clear on how she has money and a place to live, but whatever.)

There is a stable connection between those two worlds now, so she could go visit whenever she wants though, so I think it's likely we could have some guest appearances of Sunset Shimmer in FiM. Especially now that she is such a popular character.

now that there's a permanent connection there's a definite possibility. personally id like to see her stay in the human world, but i think it'd be awesome to have her guest star in some episodes and come back to the pony world in a little visit

hell, there could be an episode were she makes a choice on whether or not to come back. and i think there also might be a good story in people starting to warm up to sunset shimmer at canterlot high and finally recognize her redemption

She probably wouldn't mind going back. But on the other hand, she'd more than likely wanna stay in the human world because it seems to me she'd want it as her new home, forever.  :derp:

Actually, I have also thought about that, I didn't give much more thought into it though. Now that you bring it back up, I believe that she would want to go back to Equestria sometime, since it's her home, after all. Celestia would definitely let her come back. She's not the one holding grudges against other ponies, as we've gotten proved to ourselves several times throughout the show. Especially not if Twilight lets her know all about what happened in the recent film, how Sunset Shimmer helped them. I'm pretty sure that without her helping them all out, they wouldn't have made it. The Dazzlings surely would have won.

However, I don't see how Sunset Shimmer would have a too long stay in Equestria if she ever came back. She's got her newfound friends back in the human world now, and her whole improvement as a person happened there as well. She's got her new life there now, I don't think she would leave all that for coming back to Equestria. As I mentioned, I think that if she ever came back, it would be for a visit and that's about it.

Like others have said, Sunset Shimmer now is firmly and happily rooted in the other world, so a permanent return is unlikely. However, I have a deep desire to see her go back to Equestria - just for a visit! I just really want to see the pony side of her and see how she handles being back in the world and form she was born in. Closure with Celestia would be a good incentive/premise ...

I agree, I think her and Celestia owe each other an apology really.

I want absolutely nothing more than to see Sunset reunite with Celestia. The entire EQG series can end once that's happened, and I'd have a completely satisfying closure.

I'd love to see one of those Equestria/Star Wars celebrations in honour of Sunset when/if she returns and continues to help the others in saving Equestria/ Canterlot High. That would be my perfect ending to the EG series, with Sunset returning to the human world to remain with her new friends, feeling that's where she belongs now.

What I don't understand about Equestria Girls is that it takes place in HIGH SCHOOL. You know, you aren't in high school forever....people grow up, move on, and move away.....

And how does this explain the Sirens' backstory????

I believe that if Sunset Shimmer was given the choice, she would stay with her human friends as long as possible, but when life takes them away, she would want to come back to Equestria to start over, because she at least has one friend (Twilight), and the mane 5 in Equestria would most likely become friends with her because of Twilight....

right, and how long had SS already been in the human world before the events of EG1?

and one more thing while on the subject of plot holes, if SS and Twiley are ruffley the same age then their training under Celestia must have been around the same time, so why do they act as if they never met before the events of EG1? even if they were not friends before and Celestia kept them a secret from each other for whatever reason surley they would have crossed paths in the castle and around Canterlot :/

I can see Sunset going back to visit Equestria in a future movie. But not to stay.  She originally went to the other world to hatch her plans to take over Equestria.  But then something unexpected happened to her.  Just like Twilight Sparkle found friends in Ponyville and opted to stay there, Sunset made friends in the human world and that is her home now.  :)

I've only seen the first movie once, so I don't remember the details. But the impression I have is that SS is significantly older than Twilight ... her time as Celestia's student was pretty far back, around or before we see Twilight as a filly. Of course, that leaves the question about exactly how SS's timeline in the other world went ... but either way, something doesn't add up completely.

I'm pretty sure SS and twi are ruffly the same age, even if SS used some spell to keep herself young or even if it was just an after effect of going through the portal, she doesn't seem to be any more mentally mature then twi or the others, and in EG1 when she's shown as a pony, she looks the same as the rest, and if she had been in the human world a long time going to the same highschool wouldn't someone notice?

I'd like it if she returned to her home dimension/ land. Permanantly. Why? Because she's better as a pony, and that's where she belongs. Not amongst humans. ):

That, and she needs to realize that having two of herself in the same world (potentially meeting) can bring disastrous consequences for fate and the universe and all that mess. So to prevent that, she makes the decision to return to her rightful home, goes back ,makes peace with Celestia, and join the mane 6, making the group the mane 7, which also encourages the original mane 6 to expand and rely on friends outside their tight knit group to save the day, when needed.

I agree with most, Sunny has been in the human world for God knows how long and it's evident she adjusted very well there. She made a bad name of herself, she knew her way around, he can use gadgets, she was an alpha bitch, she reformed, she has her group of friends, she got accepted... Yeah, I don't think she'll want to return to her homeworld permanently, but I expect her visiting from time on time, maybe to help the mane6 fight another villain

I'd love for her to come to Equestria (though I think they're avoiding mixing the two worlds to avoid fan rage?)

Quite honestly I loved her character in Rainbow Rocks - I came away from that movie thinking of her as "one of them".  FiM is of course already getting little shake-ups like what happened at the end of S4, but another nice shake-up would be if it became a mane 7.  I can see by the related threads that I'm not the first to like this idea :)

how are they avoiding mixing the two worlds, when Twilight and Spike have been there, not once, but TWICE already? And Sunset Shimmer is originally from Equestria? You tell me how that works, if that's not blatant world mixing.

Sorry what I meant was, not mentioning EQG or its world in the main series (aside from that one glance from Flash)

This question gets a "yes" and a "no" from me.

Do I think she'd ever go back to Equestria? Yes. If Twilight needed her help with a problem big enough, I feel like she would have enough motivation to go.

Do I think she'd ever return to Equestria to stay? Absolutely not. She's been in the EQG/CHS universe long enough to consider it home and, as of the end of Rainbow Rocks, she's made good friends of the EQG Mane Six. She's not likely to leave friendship so soon after having found it.

As far as what I'd like to see, I'd be really happy if Sunny would visit Equestria and patch things up/find closure with Celestia. It was her original intent in RR to reach Celestia to contact Twilight, and I don't think Celestia bears any ill will towards Sunset Shimmer. A simple "Hey, I screwed up and I'm really sorry. I found the magic of friendship now and it's awesome" would be great.
