"Of all the days Brutus picked to be grounded..." Fire Ember muttered to himself as he sat down on the see-saw. Ponyville's play area seemed rather deserted today, and Fire Ember was getting bored of it. There were usually a wide selection of foals to play with.

 

'It can't stay this way forever. I'm sure somepony will show up soon...'

"I hope somepony is at the Play Area today..." She walks down the path to see a Colt on the see-saw, and she continues to walk towards the entrance followed by a small light blue baby dragon who speaks to her in a different language

"Here we are Lady Sapphire, i hope we find someone to play with today..." The Dragon giggles hugging the Small Filly

It was at that moment that Fire Ember heard a new pony enter the play area. He turned his head to see a filly... and a baby dragon.

 

Fire Ember hopped off the see-saw and ran over to them. "That is so awesome!" he exclaimed. He skidddd to a halt and bent down to inspect the baby dragon.

"Hello i am Sapphire." She smiles looking at him, "It's nice to meet you." Sapphire tilts her head, "What is you're name?" She asks curiously

"I am Aurora, it's a pleasure to meet you." She curtsies and giggles in Prench, "I too am Curious Lady Sapphire, he seems nice though."

Fire Ember decided that it would at least be polite to introduce himself. "Oh. I'm Fire Ember. Cool to meet ya, Sapphire!" he greeted the new filly.

 

He looked down at the baby dragon, who he now knew to be a girl. "So... you have a baby dragon that can also speak Prench? That so totally rocks!"

"I'm glad you like me." Aurora giggles in English? Still in a Prench Accent, "I'm going to go set up the thing." She wanders off to set something up.
Sapphire smiles, "Aurora seems to be relaxing..." She giggles, "It's nice to see someone out here it seems barren most of the time."

Ember sighed and his gaze went over the spacious park. "I know exactly how you feel," he replied.

 

He then turned to look at Aurora, who had ran off, telling her companion that she was "going to go set up the thing".

 

"What exactly is it you wanna set up?" asked Ember out of curiosity.

"Something that you will find out soon enough... Wanna play for now?" She giggles and runs into the Park, "Come on Let's Play."

 

Aurora starts to set up a picnic area, "I hope Lady Sapphire likes Tea and Cake..." She sets up the rest of the Picnic and Calls out to the foals, "Fire, Sapphire, come here."

"Yes, let's!" Ember happily responded. He galloped over to the see-saw. Just then, Aurora the baby dragon called out to them:

 

"Fire, Sapphire, come here."

 

Ember turned his head to look at the side of the park. Right there was a picnic set up.

 

"Thanks, Aurie!" he said appreciatively. He hoped the dragon was okay with the nickname "Aurie".

"Aurie...? that's actually rather cute... i like it alot..." She giggles laying out the food on the Picnic area, "Sandwiches check Cake check Juice check Soda Check Hayburgers check... i think that's it"

Sapphire giggles, "I Think she likes it Fire." She trots over to the Picnic and sits down

"Aurie it is, then!" said Fire Ember, and parked his fuzzy rear down at the picnic rug and nuzzled Aurora/Aurie on the head with his hoof.

 

As he munched on a tasty hayburger and sipped from a can of soda, he looked up at Sapphire. 'Her name certainly suits her eyes...' he mused.

Aurora takes a bite out of a hayburger, "I hope you enjoy the food i made." She takes a sip of the Soda she grabbed and sighs.

"It's amazing Aurora just like everything else you make." Sapphire giggles and starts to consume a Sandwich and takes a sip of her Soda,

Ember picked up a sandwich and sunk his teeth into it.

 

"Mmm, you got that right! Amazing!" he said, getting in on the discussion between the filly and the Breezie.

 

"It would be pretty rad to have a baby dragon over at my place..." he went on. "But I don't think my parents would take kindly to it..."

"Who are you're Parents anyway?" Sapphire looks at him curiously, "I would like to know." She giggles

Aurora continues to eat her food she finishes her Hayburger, "Thank you Fire i'm glad you like it." She continues to sip on her soda after she finishes she slices up the cake and passes it out to them.

"If I tell you where my parents and I live, do you promise not to enter the house without my knowledge?" Ember replied to Sapphire, taking a slice of the cake, putting it onto a plate, and placing said plate in front of him.

 

'You need to be careful what you ask of that dragon. It seems she'll do anything for you!'

"I never said i wanted to know where you live i just wanted to know you're Parent's names chances are i know them." She giggles and finishes her food

Aurora finishes her cake and lays down watching them, "..." She watches the clouds passing by without a word.

'She has a habit of giggling after nearly every sentence... it's kinda cute.'

 

"No offence, but I don't think it's such a good idea to give out my parents' names, Sapphire," said Ember. He took a bite of cake.

 

'Mmm. Chocolate cream.'

 

"And how would you know them?" he went on.

"Oh, i wonder how Angel Blossom and her foals are doing, she had three foals besides the Mare who ran away." Sapphire looks at him smiling, "Do you know here by chance?"

 

Aurora sighs looking at them, "Oh Sapphire please don't be creepy please..." she sits down and watches them

Looking at Sapphire, Ember raised an eyebrow at her. "Erm, no, I don't know about this mare who ran away..." he answered. "Or this Angel Blossom or her foals, for that matter."

 

'If she didn't have a baby dragon, I probably would have gotten my flank outta here by now.'

(Cannonical wise Angel is actually Fire's Mother with his Sisters Honey and Ivory and the Mare who ran away is named Alice)
"Okay Fire..." Sapphire gets up and heads towards the Play Area where she disappears under the slide

Aurora shakes her head and looks at Fire then back to Sapphire, She gathers up the picnic and puts it away leaving Fire with his items before walking away

Ember was glad that the awkward conversation was over, and he climbed up the ladder of the slide. "Whee!" he said as he slid down.

 

He got up after landing at the bottom. "You know, I wonder how the slide would feel if it were alive," he said. "For starters, it has loads of colts' and fillies' butts slide on it every day."

 

He snickered.

Sapphire sneaks away without Fire noticing and starts to walk back to her house, "I guess i messed that one up..." She sighs continuing towards her house, "I hope he will forgive me if we ever meet again..."
 

Aurora starts to exit the park to walk after Sapphire, "Poor little Sapphire... she seems more down then usual..."

Ember continued chuckling at his remark. "Amirite, guys?"

 

No response. He looked under the slide.

 

"Guys?"

 

He looked outside the gates of the park to see Sapphire and Aurora walking away.

 

He galloped and caught up with them. "Hey, is something the matter?" he asked.

"It's time for me to head back home to my Parents who are dead..." She walks at a faster pace now running away from the playground.

Aurora runs after her as fast as her legs can carry her, "Why must she keep running?" She gasps for air well continuing to run after her, "Fire if you must know she lives alone with me."

Ember's eyes widened in response to what Sapphire had just said about her parents, and was surprised to discover that she lived alone with Aurora. He galloped and pursued her.

 

He panted for breath upon reaching her. "Your parents are... dead?" he restated.
