More E-Mail Options

I'm just gonna be straight to the point with this. We need more e-mail options.

 

What I talking about is this: in the Contact Methods section of the Profile Settings section of the settings, there is a thing for Yahoo. I, for one, use Gmail.

 

Basically, I just think that if the option for Yahoo is there, why not Gmail?

 

 

 

Also, those not in staff and staff alike, please vote in that poll I made for this. Tell me if I am missing any responses. I know I am, but I cannot think of any other email sites.

The only other 'big' email service that springs to mind is Hotmail.

 

Here's an alternate thought. Instead of putting in more email provider links, when you sign up to Poniverse you have to do so with an email address, right? How about a flag in the Profile so you can opt-in to displaying that email address. Opt-in, so that it defaults to 'no display'.

Just wanted to mention, for the record, that the Yahoo field actually refers to Yahoo Chat. That said, it works much the same way as Google's own chat service in that both are linked to an email address.

 

Allowing users to opt-in to displaying the email address sounds like a reasonable solution, but one immediate concern is that it's essentially creating an open invitation for spam. Posting your personal email address in public is generally a terrible idea. This is something that can be looked into, but I can't offer any guarantees.
