movies/tv funny, light hearted anime

This one is self explanatory. I was wondering if anyone would reccomend some funny animes. I don't care about how long the anime is or sub/dub. Also I don't mind it but I would prefer there not being much romance.

Season One of Oreimo (Ore no Imouto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai) is pretty funny and lighthearted, and I don't remember there being a lot of romance, if any at all. However, Season Two does have romance, but you don't have to watch Season Two as Season One ends its story arc, making Season Two a new arc.

 

I don't know if it counts under your criteria, but Angel Beats! is good as well. It's very funny, but there is a little bit of romance (though only at certain points; other episodes will have none at all). It is mostly lighthearted, but some episodes take a more dramatic and/or emotional turn.

Hmmm I recommend Baccano!(which is what my profile picture is from), While it's not the funniest(I'm honestly lacking alot of experience with Anime in general, so I'm not the best for this), and the comedy that does come, is very much black comedy, it is light-hearted. It very much reminds of Pulp Fiction in that regard, but ultimately it is a wholeheartedly unique concept concerning the plot, with one of the greatest intros, of all things, I've ever seen. So, that's my recommendation!

Bobobo-bobo-bobo... It is one of the most random and crazy things I have ever seen on Tv The English dub is really good, I remember it being on Cartoon Network years ago.

Another vote for Oreimo. A lot of great otaku moments in this one.

 

I'd also like to mention K-On. Probably my favorite anime in this genre.

There is just so much out there...not much of these have "romance" either...really any anime involving Slice of Life and a group of high school girls is just laid back and easy going...Now that I think about it, any anime that has a guy in it (as more than a background character), there is a romance element...but most light hearted non romance anime is just girls being girls and life being life...

Heaven's Lost Property is funny, lots of fan service though so if you don't like lots of that then it's not for you.

I've been watching this too ^^ What I love about the fanservice is how it's used for comedic purposes, so that it actually enhances the experience rather than detract from it.

Lucky Star, Free!, Fruits Basket and Soul Eater are all good shows that aren't centred around romance. Ouran High School Host Club is really good too, but it does have a lot of romancy-stuff.
