technology Who would you want to see making reappearances in the next gen Pkmn?

If any character from past generation Pokemon games could show up in gen 7, who would it be?

I've always liked the characters Steven Stone, Red, and Lance (all champions, so it'd be cool to see them in a game's new region, teaming up outside of the Champions Tournament), and characters Wes (from Colosseum), Eusine, and Zinnia I'd also like to see at some point in the storyline as well, whether to team up with, or become rival to. A game that has you encounter all 6 of them, at some point, would likely just blow my frikin' mind!

MORE Red, if anything! Red is awesome!

and we haven't seen him in so long....

Having appeared in Black 2/White 2 isn't all of that long ago.

that's still a little over 2 years. Still a long time

But then it is only a single generation back, alongside the fact that he's technically appeared in every gen since thanks to remakes, I don't think we'll be seeing him again anytime soon without a good reason.

In all honesty, I don't know who I which character I want to make another appearance. There are so many characters in Pokémon to choose from, but I can't say I care for some of the more well known humans all that much. I suppose a Rival or a Villainous Boss would be nice, but that's it.

Compared to the ten whole years since Leaf has appeared? Oh, please.

Not to blow this wildly out of proportion, but Leaf was never a terribly significant gen 1 character to begin with. If anything, I think she was just added as a female character option just 'cause they didn't have them before Crystal.

I don't really care about her role in Generation I. That was almost twenty years ago, now. The fact of the matter is that in the Generation III remakes they added her as an option to play through in Kanto and become the Indigo Plateau champion. She shouldn't just be ignored/forgotten. She is one of my top favorite trainer designs in the series. And, although I started the series way back in Red, we now have Pokemon fans who began with Generation III, and their first, most important playthrough of a Kanto game might have been with Leaf.

Even for me, who started way back with Generation I, and played it to death, I prefer Leaf. Red is a good enough design (although as far as male designs go, Generation II got better), but as I said... Having played since the very beginning, I don't particularly feel anything for him. No reason that Leaf has to be ignored just because of some Generation I fans' nostalgia - Generation I fans are not the only Pokemon fans anymore.

Oh no, I agree completely. It's just that, as far as what is considered canon goes, she's not central to the original story, which is the only real reason as to why I can't see her making any kind of special return in the future.

But who knows? Nintendo can be fickle and random as hell sometimes, there's still hope :P

Honestly? I think I like when each gen has new characters for us to fall in love with and I don't want anyone to return.

I guess, maybe, Professor Oak? He could give you the National Pokedex or something.
