Well the term "Earth" was mentioned a few times in MLP, so I think thats the planet it takes place on, same w/ EQG. I think the whole unfazed by magic thing might just be local, and them keeping their reactions to themselves and just thinking it's cool rather than scary, instead of having experienced it beforehand. As for skin colors, my headcanon is that neither ponies nor humans notice skin or coat colors, as I've never heard any of the mane 6 described by their colors, so maybe everyone is normally colored and the coloring is for our benefit.

You mean the comedian Scott Thompson? Of course it makes sense, it's his stage name, not the real one.

Your right it is bridge dimension between realities. Though there is always a nexus between places where several portals converge a harmonic nexus
