In the MLP Season 5 teaser, the narrator says ''Nothing can prepare her for what comes next''. I personally think it will be a war, as you can never prepare for war unless you build assets before. War comes when you never expect it. Also, the first episode will have a seemingly communist society. At the end of the episode there will probably be a hint like in Season 4. I Think that the Mane 6 will go around gaining war assets like in Mass Effect or Fable III. Only thing is, should little girls be introduced to war?

P.S: Have Hasbro learned from spoiling season 4 with that playset?

Even though that would be...interesting... I honestly doubt it. I mean...that trailer voice doesn't seem anything like a war preparation =/

I doubt Hasbro would do that. However, it would be awesome They would probably do so in the IDW comics as they seem to be more...... for older people. I've at least noticed that there are things younger minds wouldn't get and in one comic, Celestia is reminded of a war that took place at Canterlot and a flashback is shown where she, her guard and the citizens defend their city against a big invading army that have catapults and other things.

that could easily mean an unexpected break up and fallout with a friend she's had since season 1, or maybe losing Spike (since she show is slowly seeming to write him out, in terms of usefulness to Twilight), or maybe some new threat that she, and none of the others can beat (without Sunset Shimmer acting as the 7th element of friendship). it could mean ANYTHING, not just possibility of war or not.

As much as I appreciate that FiM has greatly exceeded all expectations for a children's show, and one for little girls at that, I would rather the show not go that route. Maybe there can be a finale of sorts with a battle that involves everypony, including the side cast, in a big fight for Equestria or one of the major cities, but I don't think an entire season should be built around that premise. My impression from the preview and trailers is that there may be problems occurring all across Equestria and possibly beyond, and as the Princess of Friendship Twilight and her friends may have to travel around and deal with these issues periodically in some isolated episodes while other episodes are still set aside for the slice of lifey stuff and other episodes that are unrelated to the overarching plot.

I dislike the idea of a war, keep the darkness in the comics, I like how dark they can get, but the show is something that can make me smile at the happy ponies on my screen, with a war I think it would be a bit too dark for my liking in the show, I am okay with a finale being about a war, but a whole season would change mlp too much, I just thought, what if the movie was about a war, I might be okay with a sequel to that movie having a war, but not the first movie, not when I have been waiting for a movie as good as the show (so not EQ) since I watched Equestria girls

If Avatar and Korra can pull off depicting a war, I think it would be interesting to see what Meghan McCarthy and the other writers could do, so far the closest we have come to a battle was A Canterlot Wedding. I believe everyone should see what a war looks like, if they could see the dreadful consequences of war, the least likely they are going to justify sending real people to fight in a real war, this was something I felt when I was in the military, and now my brother and youngest cousin are in the service. Try to ignore the fact the main audience is young girls, this so has gotten away with so much, perhaps it could take a risk and go to the worst folly of civilization, enough betting around the bush, people can not always expect to not see the repercussions of their failure to hold their leaders accountable, or skip out on their duty to their community, I am confident the ponies can show us how we could behave when the worst of times come, when a friendship is put to the ultimate test, as the Japanese proverb goes "In time of peace prepare for war, but in times of war never forget the chance for peace."

A war would definitely spice up things but not a full blown guns blazing war....a war between other races like Ponies vs Dragons (as depicted in the picture below) would be awesome! Although I don't see anything ever happening like that the show is called 'Friendship is magic' so I guess there could be some disagreement but to an extent, at the end everyone makes up and are friends.

Who knows with the MLP movie coming in 2017 they might just give what Bronies have been fantasizing for a long time, a deep meaningful story with drama that would make us cry. I don't see the movie being another EQG copy-cat I see this movie being for Bronies (in terms of story) but still sticking to the core of what MLP has been built on.

Though it would be amazingly interesting considering how dark war comes by it feels they would struggle to still keep it a light show! so I am doubtful

though it would be possible for something similar rather than something too dark... what exactly I do not know!

Well think could be story baside on conflicket. But don't know how far can go with concept of war in Equestria. But if follow comics there where something abut war in past. So it's a thing. But i donno, the writter most contand with making it not to gridy and grim, cause that would go agenst the nature of show. But could it be done? I think it could be done with right kind of written and story telling. :)

Is war even allowed in kids shows?

No , I can guarantee there will never be any war in MLP. I honestly don't think it's a good direction for them to go anyway. I suggest you stick to fan projects for pony violence ;)

Not in a graphically violent sense but yes war has been shown in numerous children's shows, one that's always brought up is Avatar:The Last Airbender, a majority of the shows plot revolves around the war of the other three nations against the fire nation. Nothing really graphic was shown on screen, mind you but there were plenty of implications of such actions. Along with everything else horrible that applies to war, famine, loss of family members, illness, pollution, pillaging, kidnaps, brain wasging(okay that's not common in irl but still) etc, eyc.

Oh yeah, Avatar of course. However, you must consider that was a central part of the show. Also the show's demographic was older. To insert war into a show like MLP just seems unfathomable to me since it goes against the show's foundation.

My Little Pony: Fighting Is Magic? Doesn't quite work
