Heavy metal song in EG 3?

Don't know what that song is but I'm not sure if Derpy will ever speak again.

Neither am I, unfortunately, and I think that would be a shame, but I shall continue to dream, and if it doesn't happen, I'll start a kickstarter to animate a music video of it.

You sure you've never heard of this one? It's probably one of the more popular songs to come out of the 80s and a lot of people know it by sound, if not by name or band. It's used a lot in modern media. It's great montage material.

I don't think so, I think the closest were gonna get to heavy metal in the show/EG is the waifu stealer Flash's guitar playing in the "Helping Twilight Win The Crown" song.

Disturbed songs would be nice. Just not the ones with bad words.

Imagine the soccer mom's reaction if Down With The Sickness suddenly played in My Little Pony! XD

I doubt "soccer moms" would even let their kids watch this show to begin with, to my understanding most of those crazy American mothers are usually republicans or right wing in some sort of way. Why would republicans let their kids watch a show that teaches them that women can do more then "children, kitchen, church", the right wing in America would likely never watch this show as they'd likely write it off as Marxist propaganda.

As liberal as I tend to be, even I think that's being a bit too harsh & general.

In reality, I love heavy metal and a lot of it's various subgenres & all, but metal kinda has a bad reputation amongst the more sensitive of parents; at least from my experience. There are some who believe that metal is among the reasons why the world is messed up, believe that it's a representation of rebelliousness, that is to loud & rude, that it's too vulgar, etc.,

Not to mention that I can't recall a true metal song that really caught the eye of the young public in a music ocean filled with pop, rap, country, and rock favorites.

It they try metal, it's going to be safe metal. I highly doubt you'll hear anything from the classics like Iron Maiden or Black Sabbath. :(

I listen to just about every music genre... but heavy metal. Never understood the appeal of it. :please:

Anyway, I think we may have missed our chance on a heavy metal song. I'm not too sure if Equestria Girls 3 is going to be about the Rainbooms, or even bands in general. If there was any time to do a heavy metal song, it was in Rainbow Rocks.

Here's a few metal songs I'd like to see covers of:

"Children of the Grave" - Black Sabbath

"Bark at the Moon" - Ozzy Osbourne

"For Whom the Bell Tolls" - Metallica

"Holy Wars... The Punishment Due" - Megadeth

"Through the Fire and Flames" - DragonForce

"Pour Some Sugar On Me" - Def Leppard

"We're Not Gonna Take It" - Twisted Sister

"Kickstart My Heart" - Mötley Crüe

Need I go on?

I don't think they'll do cover songs (more then likely create their own) but it's a cool idea (although to be fair I don't listen to much heavy metal).

If Metal in EQG 3 becomes a thing that would be absolutely amazing. Some Iron Maiden would make me quite happy, or maybe Power Metal like Savage Circus. Although really, some harder rock would be fine too, or maybe punk rock.

Considering that not only does the media still view metal as satanic noise (like rap music is totally christian), but that heavy metal in general is rarely acknowledged by the media. Despite thrash bands charting higher than ever and bands like SlipKnot charting #1 on the billboard 200, unless your name is Slash or KISS, the media won't even take a second look. That and heavy metal audiences tend to be male dominated, usually starting in teenage years. Not exactly the target demographic.

I mean it would be awesome if they did. There have been hints throughout the series like FlutterShy's training montage in Hurricane FlutterShy.

Get some guest players & singers in there. Have a few female singers like Lzzy Hale, Tarja Turunen, Cristina Scabbia, Doro Pesch or Lita Ford guesting or even playing villains.

Imagine RD or even Sunset playing a guest solo from Zakk Wylde, Yngwie Malmsteen, Alex Skolnick, Gus G, John Petrucci, or Kirk Hammett.

To fit the tone of the show the song should be either Glam Metal or Power Metal, probably the latter since the genre tends to have an upbeat neo-classical sound while singing about fantasy elements. They should make an album w/ stuff from Hammerfall, Sonata Arctica, Stratovarius, Dragonland, Dragonforce, Firewind & Kamelot.

Doing something like that might not make much of a difference in the states, but in Europe, where metal is king, it could boost attendance & sales.

I mean a loud, intense, rousing anthem from the rainbooms? That'd be epic. It should also have a guitar duel, either rainbooms vs. Villains, or a contest between Sunset & Dashie.

But I'm dubious that EQG 3 is gonna be music themed. It's a fun thought though.
