Burn: Need some help on a Wallpaper

Well a friend on face book asked me to make her a Sunset Shimmer Wallpaper,   making it look like Sun is burning away her past and moving on with her life,  so I tired to make that but I feel like its lacking something so a little insight would be welcomed and feed back please!?

Maybe some gold gradient (to show it's the sun)? And maybe instead of dark streaks, you have light streaks across the old self?
