gaming The Elder Scrolls Online: Worth it?

Hello!

So as I'm sure many of you know, The elder scrolls online is quite a bit of money for a supposedly semi-decent video game and on top of that there is the subscription fee,

I love the elder scrolls and have wanted to play this game since I first heard of it a year or so ago, and currently it is only 20.00 bucks on steam so I'm seriously considering buying it.

But before I do something I might regret, what do you guys(or girls) think? is it a decent game? am I gonna regret buying it?

I'm not tooooo concerned about it fitting perfectly into the series or have stellar graphics, I just want a game that will be fun for a while.

Before I buy is there anything I should know? or should I buy it at all?

Thanks for any and all help!

A good place to start would be looking at reviews. Not that stuff that is usually written by some journalist who was handed money under the table to write up a nice review, but from the people who have nothing to gain or lose by reviewing it, aka the people who play it.

Here's the link to the Steam review section :D Take a look around. General consensus is mixed with negative reviews being rated higher than positive reviews, and considering how many people love the Elder Scrolls series and are loud about it, that might not be a good sign :please:

As a die-hard elder scrolls fan, I played the beta, and was almost disgusted at how disappointing it was.

Needless to say, my answer is no. I wouldn't buy the game itself, much less pay $15 per month!

Personally, I'd say no. TES Online was a disappointment to say the least. It was Elder Scrolls based, sure but that doesn't change that fact it wasn't very good.

I would explain why but Angry Joe already did a very thorough review of the game. So I'd recommend you look up his review.

But to sum of my opinion. There are much better MMO's out there like Guild Wars 2, or Path of Exile (Which is one of my favorite MMO's ever.). So I'd recommend you get those instead. ^_^

Also, a much BETTER game you should spend that $20 on is Crypt of the Necrodancer. It's a really great game with a really innovative mix of genres. It's a dungeon crawler / rhythm game. I know it sounds weird but trust me when I say it's one of the best games on Steam right now and many people would agree. And it's still in early access so the devs are gonna add more. But now I'm just ranting. Sorry...

It's not worth the money for the state that it's in. A lot of aspects felt like a cash grab (To unlock the Imperials you have to buy the "Imperial Edition"). I'd just stick to the regular games personally, but if you'd like to watch some reviews, go for it. All I know is that it was a major disappointment, and i'm glad I didn't get into it.

If I remember correctly it's like $30 per month for membership to play it. EVEN THOUGH I ALREADY SPENT $100 TO BUY THE GAME IN THE FIRST PLACE. That's pathetic coming from ZeniMax and Bethesda.

It's not worth it.

Certainty from the reviews I wouldn't buy or go near it. I have to play like 80-100 pounds for the imperial edition or you can buy for 40 pounds the standard edition. Seriously I heard there was no trade, terrible lag, humongous amounts of bugs and glitches in the bets. Just wasn't right.
