The Supreme and Great State of Equestria

http://mlpforums.com/topic/117073-the-supreme-and-great-state-of-equestria/

The setting is Equestria, several years beyond what the show has shown us viewers. In this roleplay's canon, all alicorn princesses have been cast out of the kingdom for what society refers to as 'Crimes against Ponykind' and 'Illegal Modification of Genetics', with the general idea being that Earth Ponies have risen up with racist ideals, condemning any and all forms of magic present in modern society, depicting Unicorns and Alicorns as evil warlocks and demons.

With the casting out of the princesses, a new class system has been introduced, with the following being the basic concept:

[Closed, 'Rose Heart', NPC] Inspector of State: The highest authority and ruling figure of modern Equestria. Has ultimate authority, the ability to hold council from Class A's, and the ability to execute any citizen below them.

[Open, Approval Required] Class A Citizen: An Earth Pony citizen of royal bloodline. These citizens have ultimate authority over all others, and due to their small number are seen as the absolute rulers of the society.

[Open] Class B Citizen: An Earth Pony citizen of any bloodline. The aristocracy and high society members of modern Equestria. Known by lesser classes as 'Strikers' for their stereotypical tendency to strike or beat lesser classed citizens with clubs they are permitted to carry. These citizens also act as authority figures, and are authorized to investigate, jail, beat, or execute any citizen below them.

[Open] Class C Citizen: A Pegasus citizen of any bloodline. Seen as serfs and plebeians by the upper classes, but are treated with far more respect than Class D Citizens. These citizens typically have to work pretty hard to earn their living in society.

[Open] Class D Citizen: A Unicorn, or any other creature aside from Earth and Pegasus ponies that has been given a license to live legally within Equestria. These citizens are used for slave labor and are commonly beaten and harassed by the upper classes. Their living conditions are horrible and dangerous, and they are extremely prone to death due to the conditions in which they live.

Subclasses:

Enforcer: Any citizen Class B or higher that has been authorized to detain, beat, arrest, execute, or deport any citizen equal or below their class. The Inspector of State (IoS) is automatically considered a Grand Watch Commander over the Enforcers.

Outcast: Any citizen that has been cited as a threat to society and is considered a criminal. These characters will be attacked on site by any loyal Enforcer and likely be arrested or executed.

Equestrian Sectors - Note: Enforcers are allowed access to any and all cities if approved by a Watch Commander.

Canterlot Castle - Class A and higher only.

Canterlot - Class B and higher only.

Ponyville - Class C and below only.

Manehatten - Class D only.

Newly Assembled Cities:

#13345 - Class C and below.

#20398 - Class D.

#99844 - Class D.

Roleplay Rules and Regulations

  • Rule 1 - Absolutely no alicorn characters. You would be killed on sight for even existing. There are zero exceptions to this rule.
  • Rule 2 - You must ask for permission through PM to be given a character that is Class A or higher. This is the case in order to limit the number of people with in character power so that it is more interesting.
  • Rule 3 - Citizens Class C or lower are weak and malnourished due to the food being hoarded by the higher classes. Unless you are a member of an active resistance that was previously established through RP, you must adhere to this rule. (i.e. if a Class B tries to fight you, you'll most likely lose.)
  • Rule 4 - Fights or other in character conflict requiring justification due to disagreement must be moderated by a Game Master (either myself, or someone whom I have appointed thusly.)
  • Rule 5 - Keep all in character tenseness and racism just that, in character.
  • Rule 6 - You must appropriately RP fear in the given situations that would require it.
  • Rule 7 - You may not have a character that has a direct relation to a character from the show, via bloodline or simply knowing them well, without approval from a Game Moderator.
  • Rule 8 - You may post once, and may not post again until a Game Moderator has posted setting the scene for each particular event occurring in the RP. If the Game Moderator does not directly address you in the moderation post, you may assume that nothing notable happened to your character. If you are seriously concerned, PM them for help.
  • Rule 9 - You may not control a show character. Show characters are only allowed if introduced by a Game Moderator with approval by the Head GM. The Mane Six and their pets are not allowed under any circumstance.
  • Rule 10 - If you have more than one character (two is maximum) you must post both of their actions in your one post per round.

Game Moderator Rules and Regulations

  • Rule 1 - All moderation actions taken on any given day must be documented and reported to the Head GM via private message before the day's end. Failure to comply will result in loss of GM status, and any moderation actions taken may be altered, reversed, or completely changed by the Head GM.
  • Rule 2 - If you have a character in the roleplay, you may not moderate a conflict involving your character. This is to reduce any bias against the player that the moderator is competing with.
  • Rule 3 - There must be an evident strain of logic behind events you create. No crashing the moon into the planet and killing everyone for no reason.
  • Rule 4 - You are not allowed to directly control a player's character. (i.e. Shallow Waters suffers a heart attack and dies! Character Death.
  • Rule 5 - "Epic Events" or events that effect most or all of the characters in play, may only be placed into action by the Head GM, or with proof of the Head GM's approval.
  • Rule 6 - You may introduce the use of a dice roll or some other random chance method so long as you can prove that it was completely random. These dice rolls are to be used for or against players to decide how a situation, attack, or event effects them. Note: You must establish, prior to the roll, what number causes what condition to befall the character.
  • When acting out moderation actions, you must place the following at the head of your post in centered, bold, size 24 text of the matching color: Scene Post, Moderation PostModeration posts are used for changing settings, punishing or kicking out players, changing time or reversing a scenario, or generally controlling the RP. Scene Posts are used to address what is currently happening to each player.

Example:

Scene Post

Shallow Waters - The two guards approach menacingly, growing and stomping their hooves as they eye the mare up and down with contempt. The guards take no action.

Moderation Post

PonyPlayer2000 - Player is suspended from RP until ( insert time and date here ) for powergaming. Repeat offenses may result in banishment.

Game Moderators

Bear in mind, people on this list, and ONLY people on this list, have the right to control time, create scenarios in RP, control NPC's, reverse any and all in character situations, and order a halt to RP in order to discuss the situation Out of Character before proceeding. Head Game Moderator has authority and higher say over all other GM's.

Room for one?  :D

I'll expand on the character later, I need to go over some ideas with you first.

Approved

H-GM Note: This character is exempt from Rule 7 due to the fact that it was made prior to Rule 7's writing, and that the relation to a main character is vague enough that it may not have happened in the first place.

Now this is interesting. I'd like to sign up with Pot Luck if you don't mind.

i would like to sign up with my oc lusty knife link here http://mlpforums.com/page/roleplay-characters/_/lusty-knife-r7609

Denied

H-GM Note: Character concept is entirely ridiculous both in this setting and in general. Character concept includes the use of outside references (i.e. 'Dragonborn' symbol). Grammatical skill requires improvement before consideration.

My OC Sound Wave but a question before I post her here, are non-ponies allowed

Yes, but they usually fall under the Class D subsection due to not being ponies. There are exceptions admitted by the IoS, and the Earth Ponies is general if the non-pony in question contributed to the rise of the Earth Ponies, but that would require further discussion through PM if you would like to establish a backstory so that your character may be Class C or higher.

Also can I put in 2 characters or only one

It's recommended that you only put in one character, though you are permitted two maximum. This is done so as to avoid any conflict that involves one person fighting himself.

I may have overdone it...

The awkward part is, I didn't realize it was THAT long until I actually posted it. The irony is, I told a friend I had some serious writer's block earlier. Send help.  :o

Well, there seem to be an awful lot of rules, but I suppose it's better than no rules at all.  I can't say I'm not picky either when I recruit for a role play.

I'd like to apply with my character, Silver Shield.

There is one concern.  He is fairly close to Celestia, but I doubt that will make much of an impact on the role play.  (I omitted it from his information just for this RP.)

I have a feeling that his backstory of being a Royal Guard and the son of unicorn nobles may make him even more of a target for abuse...this RP will not be Silver's most enjoyable, methinks.

I don't have a pre-made bio for him (I should really make one), so here is the information on him:

Name: Silver Shield

Age: Appears to be in his early 20s.

Gender: Male

Species: Unicorn (Class D)

Cutie Mark:  A silver kite shield, representing his skill in conjuring magical shields.

Personality:  Very serious.  He rarely laughs, and when he jokes, usually ponies don't realize it, because of the subtle and situational irony that is his sense of humor.  He is not the most talkative pony, either.  In fact, showing emotions is not his strong suit.  But despite his cold, stony exterior, he cares very deeply for Equestria and it's residents, even the bad ones, to an extent.  If there is a chance somepony might get hurt, Silver will not hesitate to put himself in danger to protect them, all while keeping a straight face and a cool head.

Backstory: Silver Shield was a member of the Royal Guard, before they were exiled.  He took his job very seriously; it could easily be said that his job was his life.  He was often teased by certain ponies for being overly-serious, but he never changed.  His parents were Canterlot nobility, and he despised the meaningless talk, bribery and social warfare that he was forced to endure.  His parents were equally horrified that he chose to join the Royal Guard, when his high birth would have enabled him to live his entire life without working a bit.  As a result, his sister receives most of his parents' attention and monetary assistance.  Silver is content to live with enough money to get done what's got to get done, however.

Name: Renegade

Age: 19

Gender: Male

Species: Unicorn (Class D)

Cutie Mark: A map

Talent: He has extraordinary perception, which allows him to act as a living object detector.

Personality: On the outside, Renegade seems to be a happy and optimistic individual. However, he is actually a nervous and insecure wreck who is unable to take abuse. He does not understand why the earth ponies have a newfound hatred for unicorns and magic, and is determined to figure out why. He is also fairly charismatic and intelligent.

Background: Renegade was born in Ponyville, to humble parents. He spent his childhood acting like a normal colt, spending time outside and playing. One day, he wandered into the Everfree on a dare. There, he discovered several ancient artifacts quite by coincidence. He kept them a secret, but earned his cutie mark. At 15, he moved out of his parents' house to open a trinket shop. Now that he is classified as a Class D citizen, Renegade tries to eke out a squalid existence, while keeping a positive attitude...or trying to anyway.
