In the future of an alternate universe to the Equestria we know and love, life is very different. Gone are the green slopes and pleasant days. Instead there are twisted hellscapes and terrifying horrors, emerged from the darkness of distant Chaos. But ponykind was not so easily broken. In an effort to survive, they built a massive flying fortress known as the Citadel to protect them from the dangers below.

A marvel of technology, built to house the entire population of Equestria and protect them from the dangers below. Powered by magic, shielded from the Chaos and kept in order by the finest technicians and engineers, the Citadel represents the last bastion of ponykind. And it must survive. To achieve this, any race that called the Citadel home banded together and pushed back against the Chaos. They were the first Rangers, and they began to train others to defend the Citadel and re-discover the world we once knew as Equestria.

And that’s where you come in. You’re the newest generation of Rangers, trained to survive out there in the hellish landscapes we once called home. I won’t lie to you, Rangers. You’re going to see things out of nightmares. You’ll be going into dangerous situations with the very real possibility of death or corruption by Chaos. But if you don’t fight for the Citadel, who will? So, you know, no pressure…

Ok, second time around. This is a reboot of Resurgence, a post-apocalyptic sci-fi alternate universe of Equestria that I tried to run a little while ago. Well, the rules are polished up a bit, though I kept the same basics and opening speech from the last one. Please read through the rules before applying, and if you have questions, don’t be afraid to ask ^^

How to Apply:

To apply, simply post a link to your character's sheet on this site and pick the class you'd like to play as. Spots are limited, so may the best Ranger win.

Here are the rules. The original rules are borrowed from fellow Role-player, Cinderscribe (now known simply as Cinder):

· No Mary Sues or Godmodding: It spoils the fun. Not being able to do something is often the more fun route. No overpowered abilities! <- This is red because it spoils a good RP and folks tend to overlook the rule.

· Give us something to read: 200 characters is good for when you just need to give a reaction, or for your character to answer a question. It’s not good for every single post.

· Make it readable: Cus I cnt reed dis, it no nise. C?

· Be reliable: I'm not asking for a post every hour, but if you're not going to be able to post for over a day or two, let us know so that whoever you're talking to isn't stuck and we aren't all waiting for you.

· Don't join if you don't want to play: If you don't intend on staying, at least for a while, just don't apply. Likewise, if you have to drop out, make a post in the RP justifying you're characters absence please.

· What the DM says goes: I shouldn't need to invoke this, but the DM basically has the final say in any arguments or disputes. Rule 0 of any roleplay or tabletop game.

Classes:
These are the available classes for characters in Resurgence, mostly to help organize things but the loadouts are necessary for combat. They show your character’s role in the squad and what they’re equipped with. All classes are equipped with a combat knife, 1 Primary Weapon, 1 Secondary Weapon, and 4 Grenades. However, you may switch out your grenades with the class feature listed for your class if you so desire.

 

Librarian (Unicorn/Changeling only)
Role: Caster.
Primary Weapons: Sword, Staff or Marksman Rifle.
Secondary Weapon: Heavy Pistol.
Class Feature: Combat Spells.
 
Hunter
Role: Ranged Combat.
Primary Weapons: Marksman Rifle, Pulse Rifle or Sniper Rifle.
Secondary Weapon: Heavy Pistol or Revolver.
Class Feature: Hunter Traps.
 
Striker
Role: Close Quarters Combat.
Primary Weapons: Sword, Axe, Hammer or Auto Rifle.
Secondary Weapons: Light Pistol or Shotgun.
Class Feature: Grenades or Stun Baton.
 
Titan
Role: Tank.
Primary Weapons: Auto Rifle, Machine Gun or Rocket Launcher.
Secondary Weapons: Machine Pistol.
Class Feature: Deployable Shield or Deployable Turret.
 
Medic
Role: Healer.
Primary Weapons: Marksman Rifle or SMG.
Secondary Weapons: Light Pistol or Heavy Pistol.
Class Feature: Healing Grenade/Spell.
 
Scientist
Role: Tech specialist.
Primary Weapons: SMG or Pulse Rifle.
Secondary Weapons: Revolver or Machine Pistol.
Class Feature: Tranquilizer Dart Gun.
 
Weapon Specialist
Role: All-rounder.
Primary Weapons: Auto Rifle, Pulse Rifle, Marksman Rifle or SMG.
Secondary Weapons: Sword, Light Pistol or Revolver.
Class Feature: Grenade Launcher. Doesn’t really replace grenades as it’s loaded with them.

I'll need a link to his bio, and you don't need to edit the backstory on his sheet. Just PM me the edited version. As for the potion brewing, finding ways to heal the squad is part of the job, but that is a cool way to do it.

No, but I'd like to see how many people apply to the RP before accepting multiple characters per applicant. There's only a certain number of slots available, you see.

 

But, if you'd like to choose your weapons and whether you'd like standard grenades or the Medic's class feature, I'm happy to accept Bulawayo.

I'm applying to Weapon Specialist, since it's the only open position anyway.

Loadout: Long weapon: Auto Rifle

Sidearm: Revolver (.357 magnum) with a Derringer as a tertiary backup

Grenade Launcher: Traditionally loaded with High Explosive rounds, but carries a few teargas and smoke canisters in case the situation requiring them arises.

You know him, you love him, and now he's here! Of course I can change his backstory and personality a little for the RP, btw. I've decided on Weapons Specialist, so please remove that reservation Windy.

 

His weapons are:

 

Primary: An auto rifle. Model will be decided upon later.

Secondary: Light pistol, please.

Grenade launcher will be loaded with fragmentation rounds, incendiary rounds, smoke rounds, and chemical rounds (which the liquid inside will be capable of melting traditional enemies and some materials).
