Monster Hunter, one of the most over looked series in the west. You take big ass weapons and hunt big ass monsters, sounds fun right? I've only recently gotten into it and wish more people would too. Also Monster Hunter Ultimate 4 soon will be released world wide.

Anyways discuss your favorite/ least favorite games, weapon type, armor, monsters, companions etc.

My friend is very excited to give the new weapon types the insect spear and the charge shield a try.

 

I'm just glad some of the oldies taken out of MHU3 make a welcome return.

 

I'm gonna enjoy fighting Akantor again and the new tigrex subspeicies look like fun to fight

Omg, that Zinogre and Fem Lagombhi armor. Thats what my second character in MH3U is wearing atm. Meanwhile, my main is wearing Zinogre armor and I am ONE SHOCKER away from the Zin Greatsword and the game will not give me one.

I've only put about 160 or so hours into Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, so I'm still widely considered a newb. :/  I DID solo my way up to G-Rank, doh.  Last thing I did was put together the G-Rank Jaggi armor; I like being able to safely consume meat without cooking it. xDD

 

Oh, and I favor Long Sword, Switch Axe, and Great Sword.

Fun little story my brother stayed in Japan for 6 months last year. Two blocks from his house was an entire MONSTER HUNTER STORE. Only mh merch for the entire store and in the center was a $300 5 foot tall lagiacrus.

Monster Hunter is probably one of my favourite games too.

 

Gypceros is probably my favourite monster, I love his attack patterns, colors, and he's so cartoony, like how he attacks and runs around lol he's so cute, I want a baby one.

My weapon collection is all over the place I have durambramos and rathian swotch axes, barroth hunting horn, giginox sword and sheild, rath long sword, bullfango spear, lagombi dual blades, brachy great sword, rathian blow gun, and a mother fucking kettle blower!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shin high? Wot m8? I fought a mini qurupeco once but it was still my size.

Started the series with Tri, what a great game...

Then 3U came. Some of my life went.

Anyway lol, I play MH3U solo on 3DS, can't wait for 4U. Pretty sure I've beaten every monster at least once, don't play much since then unless there's something I really want to do but the cravings come here and there.

I go Blademaster. I try Gunner here and there but it just doesn't feel as cool... weapons I like include Great Sword, Switch Axe, Dual Blades, Gun Lance, Lance, and Hammer. Armor depends on the sitch o'course.

One of the event quests is a volvi and an urgaan, the urgaan is no higher than up to my shins.

My buddy finally got his Rathian Mantle, by the way. He's fought probably about 20 g rank rathians before finally getting it.

Hmm most likely no, but I had shot them down while flying several times, which is why bowguns are fun to use on them.

I had an extremely satisfying moment the other day. I was hunting a lagiacrus and once it had taken enough damage it ran away to that sea cave to sleep. So i being a smart hunter snuck up and hit it with a full up swing of my switch ax right on the tail sending him and his tail in two seperate directions. When he turned around he was poisoned to boot.
