Did Sunset Shimmer kill her to take her place in Canterlot High? Or is she still around somewhere in the human world?

I believe various fanfics and many people's headcanons go with this idea, but I think it's a little too dark for Hasbro.

 

I'm not OK with believing that of my precious Sunny.

 

 

 

Or is she still around somewhere in the human world?

 

It's possible she never existed in the human world. Perhaps would-be human Sunny's parents suffered a miscarriage and she was never born.

 

There are plenty of human characters in Equestria Girls that we've not seen a pony equivalent for. So perhaps there's simply not a one-to-one correspondence between the populations of the two universes.
