Took me a few weeks to get around to uploading this, mainly because the quality of my snapshots of this weren't entirely up to scratch... not that this is either, I mean... -_-

You may be wondering, 'why Sweetie Belle? What about your favourite pony?' and the answer to that is, laziness. She's easier to draw than Fluttershy, and I need easy when I'm just getting back into drawing.

If I do another drawing like this, I'm gonna have to forget about adding a background, even if it's just pure black like here- I feel like it's affecting the quality of my photos, but maybe I'm imagining things. :/

Oh my goodness, that is so adorable! You did a really great job on this, it looks so similar to what she looks like in the show. Man, this forum has some great artists.  :D

I like it. It's got a soft fuzzy feeling to it. Just like I imagine the real Sweetie Belle does.

Well, you know... "real".

Thanks!  ^_^ I tried rubbing the sketch in some places to make it fuzzy like that; maybe that's something I should keep doing when I'm drawing ponies?

Thank you! ^_^ Making my drawing match the show took a while, though, so I may end up trying my own style next time around :)

I think your drawing of Sweetie Belle is amazing! The tail, mane, the smile...

Nice job, you really made an excellent drawing.

Thanks! ^_^ The smile always felt a bit weird for me, but maybe I'm just being overcritical in that way :P

That's really cute!

However, since I myself am a artist, I can say there are a few errors(THE MOUTH)

I KNEW there was something wrong with that mouth! >_< I'll have to keep on practicing drawing it, I guess; thank you for the feedback! :squee:

It works for Sweetie Belle. Because she's a soft fuzzy character. Look at her mane colours compared to the others - much more desaturated and pastel-like.

I don't know if other ponies would benefit so much from the same treatment.

Your drawings are pretty good too, though :) You find fillies hard to draw, but for me, it's the Mane 6 and so on that I doubt my ability with :P

Good point... I'm gonna have to experiment and see what works well with the others, then ;)

She's adorable and Sweetie Belle is best pony. I decree it.

Great drawing you made there. I love it!

BUT FLUTTERSHY- ;_; Thanks, both of you! ^_^ You're going me the motivation to make another one soon- maybe I'll try Fluttershy this time, or one of the other CMCs. :3

Looks nice, would probably look better if it was scanned but if you don't have one then there isn't much to do. it also looks to me like it looks soft because the photograph is blurry, or did you intend for it to look that way?

Overall good, not much to criticize. One thing I would say needs improving would be that... well... maybe she could be slightly taller; legs seem a bit too short. But I may just be nitpicking at that point.

I'm wondering, how is Sweetie easier to draw than Fluttershy? I would actually think the reverse would be true because Fluttershy appears to be less tedious to draw... like her mane is just a series of long curved lines instead of Sweetie Belle's various curls. I'm also somewhat curious how long you've been drawing ponies because I have seen various artist begin drawing ponies more or less in the show's style but eventually develop their own distinct style as they draw more ponies (though some have remained resembling the show's style even after a notable amount of time).

Well, I intended to make it look soft, but having the photograph blurry was more a consequence than my design. It's helped the effect in some way, and lowered it in others... or at least, that's what I'm thinking :/ Either way, thanks for the feedback! ^_^

Huh, I didn't notice the legs before, but you're right actually. Getting the scale right is one thing I may need some work on ;)

I'm not too sure why I think Fluttershy would be more dififficult to draw, if I'm honest... I guess it's just my first impression, but I could be wrong...

As for how long I've been drawing ponies, I can tell you that I have drawn a grand total of

one- this drawing :P

Something that will help a lot for presentation is possibly trying to acquire a scanner or a better camera. You might try taking the photo in a better lit area (hard to take a good photo in a poorly lit room) and standing back more from your piece when you take the picture so your camera lens can focus properly. It could really help the quality.

Really? Huh. Didn't expect this to be your very first pony drawing. That's a good start. Then we have yet to see how your style will develop whether it will be your own unique style, whether it will be influenced by someone else's style or remain more or less the show's style.

You're right... I'm looking into some new camera now; if the response to this drawing is anything to go by, it'll be a good investment ;)

I'm looking forward to finding out! ^_^
