I haven't seen any episodes, but I keep hearing amazing things about this show. What makes it great? The story, humor, animation, all of the above?

Yes, to all of the above.

 

Its story and humor are the show's strongest points, and it does a good job maintaining a chill and fun environment that keeps you from getting fatigued even when it deals with some pretty heavy and confusing stuff. The characters are great too. Dipper is best pone, but the supporting cast and his amazing bond with Mabel are what makes the show shine, in that regard . Definitely worth a try. Season 1 is gold, and Season 2 has been even better so far.

You see it's because humans are omnivores and we tend to crave meat because it is high in protein and carbohydrates. When we eat It and it tastes good, it's because our brain wants us to eat more of it because that's what it wants.

I haven't seen much of the show, but I'd assume it's good because of good writing. That's pretty much why any show is good, other than like production value and stuff.

All of the above. Not just that, but Gravity Falls is also one of those shows that is very continuity driven. When you have a continuity driven show, you'll get more intelligent writing. Or, that's what I think.

 

The characters are great too. At first glance they seem rather stereotypical, but when you look further, you realise that they have a lot of depth, especially the Mystery Twins. I would highly recommend it.

I like how it's funny and has a element of mystery. It's animation style is also unique.
