A few months ago, I learned of the new Dragon Ball Z movie coming out in Japan on April 18, 2015!

This thread is obviously for those who want to share their hopes, expectations, and any info they have about this new movie!

Here's the official description:

"A fated clash!! A battle surpassing gods begins — !!!!

 

After peace returned to Earth following the battle with God of Destruction Beerus, the surviving remnants of Frieza’s forces, Sorbet and Tagoma, approached, seeking the Dragon Balls. Their objective: to revive Frieza in order to bring his forces back to power. That worst wish in history is granted at last, and the resurrected Frieza plots his vengeance against Goku and the other Saiyans... And so, Frieza’s new army advances on Earth, and Gohan, Piccolo, and Krillin clash with a thousand soldiers. Goku and Vegeta challenge Frieza to a fated duel, but Frieza had attained an overwhelming power-up!

 

“Allow me to show you… my further evolution!”

 

Now, for warriors beyond their limits, the curtain was about to open on a battle like none before or since –."

 

I, for one, am excited! I always kinda liked Frieza, and I think it'll be cool to see him gaining more attention in the canon DBZ universe. Not only that, but Beerus and Whis are back, and I am pretty excited about that too! (I don't hate them as much as everyone else does, I actually thought they were pretty funny).

 

Anyways, what do you have to say about it? What are you looking forward too? What are your expectations? Anything you're hoping for? What else do you want to share?

I remember back when Freeza was a legitimate threat and terrifying monster in DBZ. And then afterwards, he was gradually turned into more and more of a joke, getting oneshotted whenever they go to HFIL and fight him along the way. It'll be awesome to see him scary again, though I won't be able to un-hear the awesome Abridged voice.

I guess Akirya Toriyama must've decided that he wanted to go back to his original plan for Frieza to be the strongest enemy. I honestly really wish he'd use Broly again though and give him some kind of super powerup. If he can do that with Frieza then why not Broly?

I guess Akirya Toriyama must've decided that he wanted to go back to his original plan for Frieza to be the strongest enemy. I honestly really wish he'd use Broly again though and give him some kind of super powerup. If he can do that with Frieza then why not Broly?

tbf, none of the movies were never really canon until Battle of the Gods. And honestly, Broly was a pretty poor character, all he really had was being ridiculously big and angry and strong, but was a weak villain overall

I like Broly cuz he's badass. And well I think Bojack Unbound seemed canon as well.

 

EDIT: Also I don't care what anyone says. I know for a fact that Broly is stronger than Cell lol.

I think the movies fitting into the canon is based on fan interpretation, since there are some movies that can fit in the DBZ's timeline, like Bojack and Wrath of the Dragon, but overall many don't feel that the movies are canon due to the lack of any creative involvement by Akira Toriyama aside from probably character designs

Wait a minute... WAIT A MINUTE, you mean to tell me Frieza has another transformation?

 

As if he didn't have enough already. :P

 

EDIT: I just remembered something. I know some people say that some of the movies are not canon but I just realized in Cooler's Revenge, Cooler's final transformation is actually one step further than what Frieza could achieve.

 

I guess Frieza can transform one more time.

 

Anyways, it looks like it'll be good.

I think Broly was enough of a powerhouse already, though he doesn't really fight seriously, even against gohan.

Frieza wasn't my favorite villain but this could somehow work. He kind of has been backhanded every time since Goku beat him the first time. Not sure how another transformation will help him.

Not just another transformation! Apparently, Frieza's actually gonna train for once in his life! Man, he must some brutal training regimen to be able to cross that large of a power gap...

Should be nice to see Frieza finally being a threat again after being humiliated so often. Also, nicr to see him being the focus of a movie instead of just a cameo.

 

And now I continue to await a DBZ movie involving Cell...

Well, Broly wasn't actually canon... Hehe, even then, who in their right freaking mind would use the Dragon Balls to revive an insane, bloodthirsty monster like Broly?
