Do you think that boomerang sucks now. I think so because all theyve been showing for months is chowder and the Garfield show(God I hate that show) and they had a recent rebrand that is too similar to Cartoon Networks check it look. Also, WHERE ARE ALL THE CLASSIC HANNA BARBERA CARTOONS!!!!!!!!! Tell me what you think.

I personally don't watch many cartoons because to me i don't  find much fun in them and they only seem to get worse all the time

just look at bread winners and 90% of things from nicklodeon in general.....but i do see a rise in the good shows on cartoon network...which is great but back on topic...yes i do think boomerang is starting to rip off cartoon network but i think for good marketing reasons they are becoming obscure which for a tv station is deadly! so of course in panic they decide to copy the ever growing cartoon network and it get better shows.........whether or not it will work is questionable at best. but i will keep in contact (well not contact as such i just watch youtube reviews.........but you get the idea) and see what happens in the near future

I don't watch much television let alone Boomerang, so I don't have an opinion. Although, I remember watching some of the shows on Boomerang at my cousins house, and it played all of those old classic shows. I love old classic shows, so it didn't seem like a bad channel to me at all.

Unfortunately I don't have Boomerang, but maybe that's not such a bad thing now. It seems like they're entirely missing the point of Boomerang.

I don't think they should have any show newer than the year 2000

I have noticed that the amount of good shows on Boomerang is starting to go down, I hope this is temporary and not part of their "rebranding" because if it is than I might lose interest in Boomerang like I have in Cartoon Network.

Right now Boomerang is going through a transition. The reason it's being changed is because it wasn't making any money as a Hanna-Barbara reruns channel. Now of course, the current schedule is pretty weak. But only because Boomerang needs more sponsors and newer programming to gain traction. The more new content Boom gets, the less hour-long blocks of shows we'll get. I'm hoping the new programming will make the channel worth watching, and will offer an alternative to CN rather just a be CN 2.

I think Boomerang should be a fully dedicated Toonami channel, if they didn't bring that back already. It would just be a matter of getting the licenses to show the more popular anime, and they could have Toonami late nights where they show old school anime.

Right now, I would say it sucks now. In the past, there used to be more retro cartoons during a time where people were awake to watch TV. Now the retro cartoons are there during midnight. On a positive side, at least shows like The Powerpuff Girls and Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends are on it. But like I said, it can use a bit more retro to it.

I don't get to watch Boomerang that much but it instantly lost its credibility when Teen Titans Go started airing on it.

I wish they'd get the rights to Garfield and Friends. That show is much better.

The problem with being a retro channel is that Nostalgia as a novelty, wares off very quickly. Boomerang was created as CN's recycle bin for old shows, but that novelty has long since worn off, it's time for a change. It's the same reason Toon Disney had to add Jetix when it became ad supported. The same reason Nicktoons Network began producing original content when it became ad supported. A channel can't make money off reruns alone, especially when they're commercial free. Besides, it isn't what Boomerang isn't airing anymore, it's what they're going to air in the future that should matter.

I understand why some may like this change, but it's being done for a reason. Reruns alone can't get you onto more cable providers.

UK Boomerang is still okay, heck it is Cartoon Networks dumping ground for TV shows they have brought the licence to air over here (Including MLP:FiM until Pop brought the licence off them).

And heck it still airs old Tom and Jerry, Looney Toons and other old Cartoon Cartoons. ^^

I don't get Boomerang, but I still know enough to have an opinion on this. I prefer the old Boomerang, but I also like the new Boomerang. It was definitely time for a change, as until last year, it hadn't rebranded once since it launched in 2000. I do miss the classics, especially since Hanna-Barbera is my favorite studio, but I knew they wouldn't air forever. It is a shame they stopped though because they've been enjoyed by many for several generations and that won't be the case anymore. Still, there are shows airing on Boomerang now that I do like (and no, Teen Titans Go! is not one of them).

This might be an unpopular opinion but I hated Hannah Barbara cartoons, I mean even as a kid I found it odd that his studio was ripping off his own cartoons and using rehashed animation.

Yes, yes it does. The ONLY reason i watch Boomerang anymore, is the fact that airs the old Pokemon episodes. That's IT. Heck, now that they air primarily modern shows, the Boomerang name doesn't even make SENSE anymore. "It's all coming back to you". THAT was Boomerang's old slogan and the reason for the name. It was a BOOMERANG of nostalgia. It brought your childhood back to you.
