Strangest Things on the Internet?

If this has already been posted, I apologize.

You know when you're just surfing the web, minding your own business, and suddenly you look around and realize... I'm in the weird/scary part of the Internet, aren't I?

It's happened to me before, mostly with the scary and disturbing stuff. Sadly. I get easily disturbed.

There's always where you scroll too far down in Google. And then there's when you hear about something (Cupcakes? What's that?) and make the mistake of looking it up. For me, it was the said "Cupcakes" and also Luna Game... *shudder* I couldn't sleep for days after that. (That is also why I learned not to look up Five Nights at Freddy's. Once I learned it was a horror game, that was enough.)

Share your stories! But no pictures or videos, all forum rules apply, of course.

oh boy, this thread going going places xD

most of the weird part of the internet isn´t very appropriate, so i´ll just tell a story about the part that is.

when i was a kid, me and my friends would go to these creepy ghost stories/paranormal websites.

i remember, after them leaving, i went on the website again, out of curiosity, and played some kind of game where you had to click around in various rooms and "spot the ghost".

Needless to say, it was a screamer, but i didn´t know those existed back then.

After clicking around for 10 minutes, BOOOM!,scary face, loud scream, and i was shocked by that for about 1 month^^

I remembered a couple more.

My friend likes dark scary things; see, and one time she showed me Jeff the Killer doing the Nyan Cat song.

Also "Don't Hug Me; I'm Scared".

*shiver*

Okay, I think I might be able to name one story way back in like 2008. All I'm going to say is this: Scary Maze Game... I hate screamers... (Fun Fact, when chatting with somebody on Skype at night he sent me a screamer link, innocent me doesn't realize it's a screamer, also doesn't realize his boxes were on full volume (No headphones, so you can imagine how many people have heard that.) and after opening it the sound was so damn loud I rolled back from my chair and it took me around 5 seconds to close it. It was around 3am in the morning so yeah... that wasn't the last scream I heard that night.)

Come on, this one is funny :D .

The weird part of the Internet can be really fun to discover. However, I advise not to go to the scary/creepy part of the Internet. There are things one shouldn't know. I got on reddit no-sleep once, because some stories can be really deep and interesting. But sometimes, I see some kinds of people and some kinds of rituals I don't want to know about.

I remembered yet another one.

I was reading a fanfiction, and it was getting really interesting, but the latest chapter involved the CMC going into an arcade that I later learned was based off of Five Nights at Freddy's.

The worst thing about it was that I was reading it in the middle of the night.

I realize that I'm in the weird/scary part of the Internet, when I see my favourite animals character from films or cartoons during sex. I hate it. I can understnad the picture like that with humans from films or cartoons (and when this is very well draw i even like it) but animals (dalmatians for example)- this is hideous.

Well not a story of mine but I guess the strangest/scariest thing on the internet would be Marianas web (assuming it exists), but for me personally the weirdest thing I've come across online is Twilight Sparkle hentai (yeah I'm pretty safe when it comes to the internet).

Yep, I thought of another one.

There's this game many of you have probably heard of; it's called Wizard 101. Anyway, one of the bad guys is this creepy ghost lady who I had nightmares about for days before my mother finally forbid us to play the game.

I remember my brother was going to fight her, and the computer was taking a while to load. So he left for a snack, and I just sat in the computer room minding my own business when suddenly the computer finishes loading and the lady's voice blares out of the speakers all loud and rough and disturbing. I screamed for my brother and he rushed in and turned the volume down.

She was really easy to beat, but I was like nine or something, so I wasn't thinking of that.

I only have myself to blame for the things I've seen xD

The worst things I can think of are Franken Fran (horror manga, contains EXTREME gore and has general disturbing content) and this one scary korean webtoon.

Franken Fran, surprisingly, was actually rather enjoyable, in a really twisted sort of way. I somehow read it to the end.

The korean webtoon jumpscared me so hard that I was feeling the effects for months afterwards. Before reading it, I was generally immune to most jumpscares. I hardly flinched at the scary maze game and other prank scares that my friends attempted. I'm not quite sure why, but after getting scared by the webtoon I became much more sensitive to scares of any sort. The webtoon wasn't even that big of a deal. It's just that, while you are scrolling through it, it hits this one point where it starts moving by itself and it plays a loud sound effect, and I didn't expect this at all because I was used to reading stationary manga and webtoons. You know, the normal kind. I just froze there in shock before closing the webpage, and despite not jumping out of my seat I was scared to death.

Also, those strange youtube videos like Don't Hug Me I'm Scared. *shudder*

Hmm... if we're not counting videos (which is admittably where I find most of the weirdness online :P) then, I guess Cookie Clicker is kinda weird IMO... not like I've really looked into it too much, but I don't really get the point of it...  :ooh:

Oh, and some of the fanfics on FimFiction, too :) Like this one... :o

Oh, I have gazed long into the nighted abysms of the internet; witnessed the pale, horrid face of madness as it stared wide-eyed back at me.  Also, I saw things I liked. xD  But mostly the horrid face of madness and stuff!

I've seen things.  Things I can't reallllly discuss in this topic lol.  Though sometimes, when I'm in a self-flattering mood, I'd like to think that *I'm* one of the strangest things on the internet.

Go to YouTube and search for: The weird side of YouTube

You'll then see things you never even imagined you would see.

I might just do that... I'll probably regret doing it, but I will do it anyway. ...I won't return with my sanity, will I? ;-;

I would looooove to share my stories... but... I cannot. Let's just say I've seen stuff nobody would want to see. If it hadn't been me but somebody else it might have caused some mental issues.

Same here, I've seen shit on the internet that nobody should have seen.

Inb4 4chan references.

I once saw a creepy picture of some Spyro the Dragon characters working at Subway . There's one thing about it that made it gross :P. I guess it's from that weird part of the Internet .

Trust me, the examples you've described are but skimming the surface. After a while of seeing the weird crap out there, you learn to shrug everything off. Surfing the internet is fine, just be careful not to drown if you're easily disturbed.
