Are you ponies kidding me...really...REALLY!

 

RR ST was amazing, to this day "Shine" makes me cry, and im a full grown MAN! The entire track is personally touching.

And you know who im talking about, Youtube Search, any pony, who is talking about the songs. The Hate for them is almost venomous.

 

Frankly I don't understand.

 

Last evening, LAST EVENING, I was out at a club called the Blue Fox, the DJ was ripping "Awesome as I wannabe". For context, this club is ment for older adults, live music, thick drinks, etc. I about squeeled. The DJ, clearly a Pega-sister via her Fluttershy Cutie Mark Tattoo on her right shoulder, was humping this song so loud, nobody would sit down, suddenly everything from the illegal 18 year olds to the ponies in there 50s where on the dance floor.

 

I want to post this, not to draw attention but to just say, new GOOD music is fine, just let it be. Stop comparing mlp eq girls to the lion king.

 

On this forum, this blessed forum its not an issue, i get that. But you all know who im talking about. So please, spend a few bits, download the ST and enjoy it.

 

Shit, I dont know maybe im alone on this, but i got everypony at my work humming "welcome to the show".

There is a larger issue here. Let me walk through it. I personally love the Beatles. They are my favorite band. I considering them one of the best (if not the best) band of all time. I am an unapologetic Beatlemaniac. I have met those that hate them. Awesome. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The reason I say that is because that as long as they don't judge me personally for my tastes, and do not ask me to stop having said tastes, their opinion is completely acceptable to me and I will support it no matter how opposing that view is to mine. If someone hates the Rainbow Rocks soundtrack, fine. Just don't marginalize me in the process. I personally loved it. I listed to it often enough. 

 

That is the healthy response to intellectual property hate.

I consider myself extremely fortunate to have grown up in that era when the Beatles were a brand new thing and I got to experience, first hand, their development and growth as an absolutely awesome, unique, truly original and amazingly prolific group of artist-geniuses. As a result my love for the Beatles hasn't diminished over the many years since the decade. Still, I have to say that it irks me when I see younger people putting them down - often times with real venom - but then I remind myself that, when I was young and totally getting into the music of of my generation, I thought, and often said, that the music of my fathers generation just plain sucked. In the intervening years I've grown out of that immature viewpoint and have come to not only appreciate but to enjoy much of the music of my father's generation. Perhaps, one day, many of those who're doing all the hating now will come to appreciate those things that they don't like at the moment. We can only hope.

I youtube search "Rainbow Rocks review" and get a dozen videos with THOUSANDS of hits, and all it is is some asshole bitching about the film. When you KNOW he is whining just to draw attention, to his video, so he can sit at home, get fatter and get free money due to the clicks.

 

This film was amazing, its sound track was amazing. If you dont like that FINE!!

WE the fanbase, drewl for more Sunset Solos, more Dazzlings, we LOVE this music, why reap us with "fake" reviews so you can get more money....

 

...ok im sorry, maybe im still living in the 90s. Maybe im a 30 year old Rarity loving nerd, but I recall a time when conversations over music went like this-

 

"Dude i love that album"

 

"Me too!"

 

"Eh, It wasnt as good as the Black Album"

 

"Duh! Nothing is!"

 

Instead of-

 

"Hey interwebs, I hate (insert song here) and I am shitting on your fanbase (insert here) cause i need more views cause well frankly i dont want a real job..not that I have an opionion either way, im just drawing attention!"

The subject of this topic has little potential to spark discussion between many members and, as such, would be better suited to a blog. 

 

The OP is anecdotal in nature, also I tried to steer the conversation into a different direction. Mission was not accomplished.
