One of my all time favorites. It's really a great analysis on the concepts of free will and the question "Does the end result justify the means?"

Alex is really a bad guy at the beginning of the movie, but we actually kind of pity him later for what was done to him. I think no one deserves this kind of torture, because the every human has the right to choose for himself.

I have the movie on Blu-Ray, in my beautiful Stanley Kubrick Box. :)

Yes!  I know, I caught myself later on thinking "Why do I feel sorry for this guy??"  But it's really awesome too to see a movie with a villain as a main character and see how the story revolves around it.  But yeah, it was really interesting.

I've seen this movie. I can't say I "enjoyed" it, but it was certainly an excellent movie. Like other movies in "extreme cinema" that I have watched, such as The Exorcist, Saving Private Ryan, Passion of the Christ, and a few other films that I can't mention here, watching them was not a pleasant or enjoyable experience but for the most part it was worthwhile.

I appreciate movies that present a deconstruction of violence and related issues, and A Clockwork Orange is one such film. Another film of this nature that I've seen recently is Funny Games.

I haven't read the Clockwork Orange book, but I probably will some day. It would be interesting to see which one I liked better: the book or the film.

I don't recommend any of these movies for people under 18, but I don't think they're mindless trash either. There is mindless trash out there, but the fact of the matter is that part of humanity's nature is dark and these movies present insight into that darkness, which could be useful for positive purposes in life.

A Clockwork Orange is easily one of my favorite movies. It's so interesting in the way it's directed and the way that it's presented that I can't help but like it. I have both the bluray movie and the book sitting on my shelves. I will eventually read the book one day as I'm sure it's just as good as the movie.

I have surprisingly not watched the movie yet, but I just finished the book last week and it's freakin genius. The use of language alone deserves to be celebrated. But the themes, symbolism, and use of irony in it were all brilliantly done as well.

Also, the 21st chapter is extremely necessary. Shame on the US publisher and Kubrick for cutting it.

Alex of A Clockwork Orange... First time I saw this movie I wasn't sure what to expect the first scene is a creepy slow mo zoom out of Alen with his gang and that look on his face as the camera zooms out it's... Well what work does one have to do to make their face look like that. and hold it for several moments. You think what is he thinking in that moment? How many villains do you know who have a poetic way with words to their dialogue? Like I know of some but how many are well spoken? Most Bad guys tend to be the standard usual, but there's just something about a bad guy who will execute someone but first quote something from somewhere like the Bible or Shakespeare. The poetic hunter is certainly something. Any role the late Pete Postlethwaite is in, he's THAT guy.

Oh and this... :)

I laughed immediately when it was in the show. It's kinda like the Big Lebowski thing.. Obviously not a reference aimed at the "kids."

It would have been perfect if Pinkie took Rarity's missing eyelash and put it under her eye!

That was actually a Dr. John Watson hat, as apposed to the "deerstalker" Twilight was wearing in the same episode. Oh, and by the way. Sherlock Holmes only wore a deerstalker in a couple of stories that took place in the countryside. A Victorian gentleman wouldn't wear one around the city!
