How do you make a Pony?

So we have a TON of talent when it comes to making the ponies and many do it for free based on request which I would love to thank all you artist  for doing that for us!  Now after working on graphics like I have,  I would love to learn to not only make my own but also help out other people out!  

 

A base can be used and things added like mane/tail/colors and what ever a person may ask for!   Also graphics programs can be used or a tablet (tablet I think works better) but I only have a mouse and my fingers (I plan to get one of those pointer pens I can use on a mouse pad) and the following programs:

Paint.net-I like the set up and used it for my own graphics.

Gimp 2.8-My main graphics program.

Inkscape-Kinda scared of it...

 

Now yes people can say "oh look it up,  read it or youtube it"  but its not my thing,  I like to ask questions and learn from real people and get feedback!  So If any pony could help me to learn or set in a right path to start making some ponies,  I would love it and thank you!

hmmm how to put this words without visual help 

first get a visual aid from the show. it can be any pony unless your plnning on drawing one of the canon ones

hmmmm i always with any charecter pony or not is a circle which is the head and put cross like pattern on the circle depensing on what direction do you want your pony to look at this will be your guide but draw it very lightly

then i usually go with the ears next which are just triangles onto of the head that are curved in the back like the reference  then put a small triangle in front (or wherever you want the pony to face) of the cirle and curve in to hat the reference looks like as well as slightl etch the circle into the common jawline the aid has

afterwords right under the horizion line of the cross draw a circle this will be the eyeball in which pupils can be added by circles as well as that special lighting all ponies have.

afterwords with the aid draw the neck the way the reference looks like with is which kind dips alittle first then goes out. 
along with teh refernce do so with the stomach

after that should be the hooves which are just rectangles with curved ends. depending on the reference and position you want they can be straight or bent. i looked at alot of references for this so keep watch to get the hind legs right

afterwords do a light drawing on the curve on the back neck so then when drawing the mane you fallow that natural curve of the neck. as well as the tail with the aid 

from there on erase the parts that dont belong and there! you got yourself your first pony i would recommend praticing with earth ponies before doing the wings and horns but this is just me

I've tried the drawing of the pony but even my dark and lord master Satan would have wept in pain of my drawings......but thank you Dango! I want to how to really use bases to make the ponies than make my own bases!

I'd love too,  but I can't draw but have tried!  I just need some input on how to uses bases,  and such and just given a hand in the the right path to start!  I mean I tried video's and looking it up and trying myself but it just all turned to smoke in my face...
