Darth Maul originally came across as a Necessary-Evil-minded assassin with hints of honor (essentially making him a Sith version of Jango & Boba Fett), but the 2008-2014 Clone Wars turned him into a chronic Villain-Ball-grabber who ultimately wussed out in front of his ex-Master (contrasting a story I read of Maul's training days, where, when facing death and replacement, he snapped and nearly bit Sidious's hand off, so you'd think Maul would've went absolutely apes*** at the loss of his brother, fear and being outmatched or not).

The Megaman X series kicks off with a new main character that's Dr Light's last creation, is supposed to have limitless potential, is the first of his kind to be able to think and act for himself, and is supposedly the key for the future of robotics and mandkind....

 

Only for the series starts to focus on him less and more on his friend Zero until the series turns into Megaman Zero by X4 and then when it's not about Zero it's about a kid named Axl....it's really sad that the only game in the series to feel like it's actually about X(aside from the first game obviously) is a bloody spin-off

 

I'm pretty sure that the Maverick Hunter series was an attempt to re-rail the series to make it actually about X, but unfortunately that never went to full circle
