planning Science Fiction based RP

Ok,so im still planning out the ideas here but heres what i have so far:

 

Ponies have mastered space travel and faster than light travel and have started colonizing another solar system, having a colony on 3 of the 4 planets there, and now a team is being set up to be sent to this fourth planet to explore it and attempt to establish a colony there

 

the 3 other planets are

 

Durian: a mostly desert planet with 2 colonies

Theria: a mostly jungle planet with 4 colonies

Equestria II: a well rounded planet with 10 colonies, this was the first planet to have established colonies

 

The players will choose if they are from any of the planets listed or from equestria its self, and pick a role they will play on the expedition team

 

no alicorns, god characters or mary-sues

I am considering it. Though a sci-fi RP usualy works better with humans.
