Do ponies use Eggs to make cakes?

I'm not sure. AFAIK in the "Cupcakes" song Pinkie doesn't list eggs as an ingredient, but we see them as an ingredient in, apple pie I think? And Spike gets egg all over him.

Also, it is possible to make cake without eggs. It won't be light and fluffy, but it'll still be cake... ish.

It might be weird if they put red meat in, but not so much eggs. There is quite a few differences between meat and say milk or eggs, a main one being you don't kill anything to get them.

I find that kind of wierd if they do ...

They do as ooBrony pointed out. Eggs may not be a IRL equine diet item, but neither is candy or cake our characters live for sweets too. If they can manipulate complex equipment without digits, they handle eggs.

I think they do =)=) Look where Applejack is going =)

Yeah, if ponies harvest eggs, then they probably use them in baking, including cake.

It's weird to me too since our equines are vegetarian, and eggs are kind of meat.

The thing is with cartoons like these is that compromises were made. In a sense they're modeled after horses, but they have plenty of human qualities as well. While they don't eat meat (hayburger, anyone?) they seem to have no issue with eggs. :)

Though the eggs and milk are a bit strange, I'm at least glad that they don't eat meat. I always find it weird when a kids show has animal/anthro characters whose real-life equivalents are vegetarians eating meat

I always find the inverse weird.

For example, Octonauts is a show about a polar bear, a cat, and a penguin (there are other characters, but those are the main ones) who go around helping fish. These are all animals that eat lots of fish! But on the show they appear to survive on a diet of mostly kelp, algae and biscuits.

Or how about the glue that the fillies use in arts and crafts :o:(:sunny::eww:

When you think about it them having milk or red meat, thats kinda like us eating and milking monkeys

Well, considering ponies have been shown on multiple occasions to eat eggs, I don't see why they wouldn't use them in baking.

Yes, ponies in MLP:FiM are a bit humanized, they also have leather for example.

They probably have a sort of faux-leather or leather-like substance.* Now, how they came up with the idea is another story...

*(Unless you consider the Rainbow Factory universe to be canon, in which case you could say it's a... byproduct.)

It's not that weird! People have been using glues derived from tar, plant gum, pitch, bitumen, milk and starch since ancient times. Milk-based glues in particular ramped up in the Middle Ages, and were used in woodworking, furnature manufacturing, and in the construction of early wood-based airplanes.

Are the fish sentient? If so, they probably did that to avert awkward questions about The Measure Of A Fish and stuff.

At the very least it seems to be common enough to have this TV Tropes page about it.

But people never made glue from human remains, I don't think?!  Did they??

I meant that it's not weird that they have glue - I was pointing out that non-animal glue has been used for millenia by human societies, let alone pony ones. Sorry if that wasn't clear! ^^;

Ponies do eat eggs, ooBrony also pointed out the obvious chicken coup video clip as well, there is nothing strange about it at all.

Also, glue is made in a number of ways. The equestrian method of making glue is using either rubber, milk, or Wheat and Flour with water. Hell, they probably even use tree sap as well for glue.
