The city of your dreams you'd like to live in

If there was a dream city that you'd love to live in, what could it be like? Well first, the house I'd live in would be very affordable, would require little work to do around, and would be in a secluded environment. The job I would have there would be very easy, have an over $20 wage, and fewer work hours.

The city itself would have all kinds of places I would love to visit, ranging from numerous restaurants, shopping areas, theme parks, zoos/aquariums, museums, and all sorts of other places and attractions. Plus, it could be home to a big brony convention that would be almost a half hour away from my home. On Halloween season, there would be dozens of haunted attractions that would be less than (or at least) an hour away from where I'd live.

I'd list all kinds of other things the city would have, but it'd take too long for me to get done.

My dream city is basically Tokyo Japan-

I'd love to live in an apartment building, maybe 5 or 6 stories up, hate being on the ground-

And I'd love if there was an Internet cafe near by. Internet cafe's in japan are different, there's a huge library of manga and anime, and you get your own little room with like, a bed/couch/chair ( Matters what kind of room you get ) And you get a computer and tv.

All my best friends would live near by, and we'd go out every day to explore!

That's basically it-

From the perspective of the realist in me, i lean towards a comfortable city life. The humdrum and noise of the pulsing, big city bothers me little; give me a huge crowd to be swallowed in, near-by services, compact living, high-rise buildings and what not... i'll thrive like bacteria heated.

But lately, i wish to someday retire to smaller town / village. Perhaps a ground-level house of my own for me and a possible future family. A garden. An ebb in human interaction and increase in personal space (as well as a somewhat healthier lifestyle).

I know it sounds like a strange dichotomy but i'm kind of torn between my inner desires and my nature.

Basically the sky city (Columbia) in Bioshock Infinite. It's absolutely gorgeous with the only concern being falling.

So this isn't a real city, this is some theoretical metropolis?

Okay, for short hand examples:

-Canterlot (my ponysona lives there for a reason)

-Paragon City (R.I.P. City of Heroes)

-Republic City

-Castelia City

-Metru Nui

-Nos Astra on Illium (From Mass Effect 2)

-Extropia (from Eclipse Phase)

-The Exodar

-Gnomeregan

-Darnassus

-Hestavar

-Rapture

-Columbia

Now for a more personal descriptor. My dream city would be independent, beholden to no government but it's own. Said government would be none. No mayor, just a contract of citizenship that says you will not initiate force upon another individual lest your citizenship and right to be protected from such force be wavered.

Structurally, the city would be tall, really tall. As in, needs to be pressurized at it's upper floors tall. The city would be a series of mega towers connected at various heights. It would only take up a mile or so of horizontal space!

Not sure what else I could impart beyond that. After all the biggest thing that actually defines a city is the people that make it up and I can't control who voluntarily joins my city.

A small little fishing town by a somewhat busy seaport. It would be a nice little town where everyone would know everybody. There'd be no mansions or skyscrapers, just small to medium sized bungalows where the people lived and conducted business. It wouldn't have much in terms of attractions besides maybe a library, but that would be the appeal. Just land to explore, fresh green pastures, peacefulness...

To me the ideal place would be in a beautiful forest area (like where I used to live) only in a cabin like house and not an apartment. It would be a small community where everyone would know each other and is willing to help out their neighbors :) There would be a shopping center in the community that would pretty much have everything I need and want to have nearby  Also mountains! It would be great to have some mountains and gorgeous hiking trails surrounding the area :pinkie:

So that would be my dream home :squee: If only I could find such a place with the love of my life and not have to be lonely :( There's no point in appreciating such beauty by myself -_-

I'd absolutely die if I could move to Seattle. I've always been the type of guy who loves rainy days over anything sunny, and being locked away in the dark at all times. People always tell me, "you'll get depressed with all the rain there". Well, I love being alone, so it's perfect for me!
